Title: Who offers good remaps for BMW?
Post by: berg on March 23, 2011, 12:53:09 pm
My mate at work has a 07 plate 320 and is interested in remap.

Blufin seem to only cater for 320 turbo diesel.

Any pointers for me? GIAC?

ta,

Berg

These chaps remapped my MK5 and also do BMWs. Cant comment on their BMW remaps (obviously) but the remap to my car was brilliant and had it on for 2 and half years now.

Look at http://www.evolveautomotive.com/

I've just had my M3 remapped with them, and if you know me you'd realise that i don't just pick anyone. To be honest I've never heard of the other companies mentioned in the BMW tuning scene with the exception of Birds.

DMS are really good. I'd always recommend Rob young and DMS ;)

Heard good things about Evolve  :happy2:

Birds are Birds, everyone knows Birds! www.birdsauto.com - Alpina, Hartge and Dienan (sp?). Expensive, but comes with Birds backup.

cheers chaps.

i think he may have bought the wrong beemer though as his is a 320 petrol and a lot of the maps dont seem to cater for it as not diesel and no turbo.

In that case I'd still phone Evolve and ask the question...i think they still do a lot of NA tuning.

Im not so good with smaller engined BMW petrol stuff, never got deep enough into it to claim that I know all thats needed to create a really good map.

However a good mate of mine and general BMW tuning guru can be found here: http://www.bwchiptune.co.uk/

Ask for Jason :happy2:

Any car without a turbo wont remap very well, regardless of make or model.

Not necessarily, this is true for some cars but others make massive gains in drivability and sharpness from a good map.

Or option 3: go see Jason at BWchiptune (have been mapping BMW's longer than almost anyone else in the uk and does the mapping work for most of the BMW mags) and save a massive amount of cash. He also offers switchable unit.
