Title: Led number plate bulbs

Iain if you are buying the mk6 rear numberplate holders i bought these bulbs for them and i think they are excellent too :wink:

Most now have on board resistors which prevent this. I have LEDs in my no plate and side lights with no errors or bulb out lights. :happy2:

ahh cool, thanks, makes things a bit easier! I assume these would fit in my Scirocco, as its pretty similar to the Golf?

Also, can these be used in other areas of the car e.g. wing mirror puddle lights and interior footwell lights? or do the interior lights use different bulbs?

They don't flag any errors. You must ensure they are fitted the correct way, as LEDs only work one way round, so before you screw the holrs back up, pop the bulbs in and check they work!

Without sounding completely inept, but what does w5w vs festoons mean? :laugh: is there a version of those bulbs in the link which would fit a rocco?

Were both of the original bulbs working? Have you tried the one that's not working in the other holder?

Very carefully push that in and pop the housing out - its bloody fragile though
