I'm upgrading (well darren is!) my old can gateway running 1100 firmware to a ad revision gateway. Also upgrading to the newest firmware and newest maps. I just wondered what new features and things I'll be getting? Cheers guys

Had no trouble to be honest as it's only running 1100 firmware.

So Iain what you are asking is 'What new features will i have on my RNS when I upgrade to the lastest FW' ??
-
That's exactly what I'd like to know :happy2:
-
Ah ha!
Well Im sure FW1100 didn't have the voice control option so when you fit your 729B BT then make sure you get the voice control enabled wiring loom.
Also you'll get full 7 digit postcode entry which for some reason was never standard issue!!! :stupid:
Apart from that I'm not sure as I'v only ever run FW2760 and V7 maps!! I'm sure Darren could tell you though :happy2:
Oh and I think being able to use SDHC cards wasn't available on FW1100.............

I'm sure 38xx is the latest though...
-
As mentioned you can have voice control as long as your not using 1300, 7 digit postcode support with V7 maps still only 4-5 digit with v6 maps. not a feature but the unit will respond alot quicker to touch no more lag and will start up quicker I was suprised by the marked improvement in performance.
You can also now turn the screen off (unfortunately not the back lighting) have a clock display on screen.

alex was VCDS my car the other night and the fog light cornering is an option on there so
it might be part of the new can gateway ?
EDIT. Mr perkins has informed me its not, my car is just Special :signLOL:
-
cornering fog lights requires 30 byte CECM central electronic control module which would have been standard on later cars.
