may be a re-post but first time I have seen it, looks to be a good driver, especially when you see 2:30-ish
enjoy

funny where he nearly stuffs that peugeot was it up the arse :driver:
-
I dont think he wa very happy with the porsche driver by the end of that lap! I also noticed the golf was in the fastest colour! :signLOL:
-
I was already riled by the Porsche driver, so can imagine how the Golf driver felt.
-
That's an Edition 30 Not a GTI :happy2:
-
Just checked that vid against one of mine and he was almost spot on the same pace as me, but as soon as he caught up to the GT3 he ended up losing 15 seconds to the gantry compared to my run. Now I'd be p!ssed if it happened to me. I was p!ssed when I got held up by a 993 Porsche 911 for 30 seconds let alone 2/3rds of a lap!! :fighting:
These slow Porsches/Drivers

How do you know john? have you seen this car at the ring?
-
Doesnt look like an ED30 trim level in any case

The same guy in a different vid further down the list on youtube titles his car as an edition 30. Also it mentions it on some of the comments further down the list. :happy2:

the guy in the porsche is a knob!

Porsche owner couldn't face been over taken by a golf :signLOL:
-
Need to put a warning with that video: 'Watching this video will increase your blood pressure massively!!!'
Just watching it made me extremely frustrated.
-
Would have shoved his keys up his rear pipe
What a knob.
-
i think that is lightened. Its running a full cage by the look of it as well
-
Excellent vid. I was disappointed I as I was just waiting for satisfaction of the Golf getting past the 911 but alas it didn't happen. The 911 driver should allowed the Golf to pass as he was holding him up everywhere. Panic brake again and again and finally the frustration was shown.
-
im pretty sure this car was there last year when i went, looks pretty stealth until you look inside
-
Sad to see such lack of common sense. The Porsche was clearly slower and braking too early each time. The GTI was probably a very light stage 3 (no radio as you can see so I'd imagine he took out of the car many things :) )
-
What an absolute wan$er that GT3 driver is. It's that sort of egotistical driving that causes accidents at the Ring. I'm in a far superior car and you are not passing me no matter how much better/faster you are!! :fighting:
Watching that made my pi$$ boil!!!!! :angry015:
-
I know this guy. It's Markus from Wuppertal and his ED30 is a ringtool only.
This car is left at Raeder Motorsport and prepared by them.
Large Movit Brake, Michelin Pilot Cup, KW Clubsport, Recaro SPG + a lot more
and around 300 HP.
Last year I visited Raeder and they did an alignment incl. weight weights.

Markus' GTI (marked green) and my GTI (red).

Come on Nathan, don't fanny about on the fence, tell us what you really feel :signLOL:
-
i would have turned damage off and rammed the beetle... i mean 911 off at the carousel.
-
best bet would have been to Yozer Hughes him in the car park once he takes his helmet off, and explain why. :innocent:
-
As you can see the Porsche driver didn't know the course.
No common sense indeed. He said after this lap he thought it was funny.
What an idiot. :fighting:
-
The way he was half in half out of the carousel annoyed me too! :rolleye:

This may not be a popular post, it is not a Porsche of GT3 thing but the Porsche DRIVER IS A NOB thing, I have a stage 2+ GTI and a 993 RS and was up at Oulton about two weeks ago in the 993RS and following a E30 race car who wouldn't pull over after two laps he pulled over AFTER he went sideways big style, getting more and more stressed that I was out driving him, and he was a racing driver practicing for the forthcoming classic race, still a NOB though, you get the my car is fast and I'm a better driver problem in almost every car, especially High value and heavily modified cars (in equal measure). It is bloody frustrating but you are best to back off and wait and yes I spent most of the day moving over for faster cars (BUT DEFINITELY NOT FOR GOLFS - Opps been found out ).
BTW one of the fastest cars I have encountered on track last year was a very well modded and very very well driven Astra VXR! Now that is VERY FRUSTRATING moving over for one of those, but I still had to, now where do I get tuition and a K04 turbo......
I still have a very soft spot for the GTI though, second only to my 993 and four times as practical for 80% of the fun and 20% of the cost, how can anyone argue with that? Only wish I had kept my ED30 and not let it go with my ex........ (I got the std GTI, but lots of mods later it is much more fun:laugh:) BTW I traded an E46 M3 for the ED30 and loved the Ed30 more than the E46 M3, did miss the Beemer engine though
-
Great Vid, the Porsche driver should have preacticed on Forza 3 first!!! :signLOL:
-
@ jmspear
I think it's pretty unanimous that everyone agrees that it's the driver and his attitude thats the problem not the car he's driving.
Although saying that I had a similar problem last with an elderly gent in a GT3 RS and he did NOT want to let me pat regardless of how much faster is was. I got past in the end though

This is how Greeners got passed. Tap to the rear left punt off FTW :signLOL:

Ssshhhhh that was supposed to be between you and I Mr H!!! :driver:
-
Have to agree, porsche driver was just being a tw@t! That would have annoyed the shizzle outta me, basically ruined the golf's lap time :(
-
Was the Porsche driver driving that bad?
-
-
Was the Porsche driver driving that bad?
Yup!
You'd be surprised how bad some drivers can be on track.
The phrase "All the gear and no idea!" often springs to mind when I see people in exotic cars getting in the way of lower powered cars simply because they don't know how to drive/know the track.
-
It's not a shame being slow.
He just had to drive on the right and let the Golf overtake him.

+1 . Everyone is slow at first on the ring. You just have to use common sense and let the faster drivers pass !

You mean most people   :innocent:

This one's good and only 200 (ish) horsies. Porsche gets bent!
-
I am far from an experienced ring driver, but having done a number of laps round the ring on track days and public days, I love it when something that shouldn't be coming up quick is. My time round the ring has been with E30 M3, E92 M3 and a 964 C2RS.
It teaches you lines and carry speed very quickly if you let them past and tail at a safe distance. I would want far better brakes in my GTi to get that close to a GT3 tbh.
I was well hounded in my E92 M3 by an old Mercedes. I let it past and tailed I simply wasn't competent to stay with it for half a lap...... I then found out it was a very heavily modded 2.5 cosworth on Avon slicks, the guy had clocked sub 8 minute laps in it.....
I did think the E92 M3 was moving round more than I had hoped !

:happy2:
The best you can do. Tbh I prefer not beeing in front cos it makes nervous
and so causes mistakes.

Markus' ED30 has a huge Movit BBK, Michelin PS Cup and KW clubsport.
Guess it brakes as good as the GT3.
-
That's right. Movit brakes are super expensive also, that's why you don't see too many around here also !
-
The 911 driver could have learnt so much by pulling over to the right then trying to tail the Golf. Entry and exit lines, braking points. Guarantee his next lap would be 30 seconds better.
-
:happy2:
That's the way most of us would do.
