I've had a very varied bunch of cars in my time lol check my post in previous cars thread
but now finally the GTi, had it since December, so thought I might aswell join a GTi forum lol
Name is Mark, from Ayrshire, Scotland but work all over due to being in the Forces, currently in East Midlands but moving down to Cornwall soon.
Currently off work, on 6-7weeks sick leave so will no doubt be on here alot lol
Looking forward to getting to know you all better & going to meets etc :)

Hey, I'm addicted to this forum already, so no need to worry about enjoying it
Nah car is still standard, have bought loads of bits for it however but not able to fit any of it as on sick leave and basically bed ridden for a few weeks :(
I have bought the following so far, all sitting in the spare room looking pretty lol-
Wind Deflectors
R32 Rear Lights
R32 Projector Headlights
Stainless Steel Door Sills with GTI emblem
New VW keyfob badge as mine had been rubbed/scraped off lol
Pipercross panel filter
Black VW badges front + rear
Black GTI badge for back
Smoked wing mirror indicators
Then next month or very soon after will be getting-
Custom Exhaust system (dunno if i'll get cat or turbo back yet tbh)
Window Tints
18" Monza Shadows (possibly spray them black at a later stage)
So just a few things lol then later in year I'll go down the performance side ie remaps etc
I'm a Combat Survival Instructor & Survival Equipment Supervisor in the Royal Navy (Fleet Air Arm)
Cheers Mark

Quick Update for anyone interested :signLOL:
My physio has been going well since the cast came off about 3-4 weeks ago, still on crutches for about another month or so, then after that I'll still need to use a stick for a long time after that.
Then got my intensive 3 week Physio course at the end of June, then be back to normal weekly physio till the end of the new year.
So fingers crossed in the New Year I'll be back to reasonable normality except for the disability/movement of my foot.
Fun times :pomppomp:

know how you feel fella, i've had 2 knee ops in the last year on the same knee (teach me to try and play like jt lol)
make sure you do all the exercises your physio tells you to do pal, they really really do help a huge amount! i know they kill like a femal dog and are a pain in the ass to do, but helps your recovery know end :happy2: hope you have a swift and safe recovery though!

It was a paintballing accident believe it or not lol
During one of the games, I managed to catch my foot in some roots whilst running for cover & in the process I snapped my ankle cleaned off from the leg joint. Basically the skin was the only part holding my foot on
So now I have a plate in there holding the ankle to the fibula/tibula with 3 pins holding that all in place. I will be able to get back to some sort of normality eventually except for the fact I will have limited movement of my foot for the rest of my life, basically can only move my foot up & down slightly but side to side movement I have lost completely.
-
Sounds like an horrendous injury. Hope you're up and running around soon.
