Title: DIY Service
Post by: johnhol78 on March 30, 2011, 03:13:01 pm
Going to do my own service, Oil change, Oil Filter, Spark Plugs, Pollen filter and Air Filter (New Pipercross).

Using Castrol Edge and OEM parts elsewhere except the air filter so will be a better job than a garage.

Problem is the Service Indicator...

How is this reset - via Vagcom or is it via the trip comp (midline)?

Thanks

From past experience I think its -

Ignition Off
keys Out
Hold 0.0 Near Clocks
Key In
IGNITION ONLY ON
Press Minute Button near clocks

That should do you ;)

you can use VCDS to reset it but there is also a button combination that will reset the indicator.

Not tried it but this should do it

seen a post saying it also tells you how to in the manual.

VCDS is a better way to reset it, as you can use the SRI tool to get the setting perfect for how you want it setup rather than just defaults  :happy2:

AFAIK the button reset only works on the T&D right?

It works on Longlife, but will reset the car to T&D

If you are on longlife and want to stay on it, its either VCDS or a dealer to reset.
