Title: Help - Aircon problem...
Post by: TimS996 on March 30, 2011, 05:39:07 pm
Just trawled the old posts on aircon probs so I think I know what this however, beforer I book it in, what do people think?

With the aircon switched on, set full cold, its lightly chilled at best. Fans on the back of the radiator are not going round.

On a three hour motorway drive yesterday, could get nothing but ambient temp air from it. As the car is an 08 it shouldn't need a regas.

What do we think? Compressor, some sort of elec problem?

Thankfully its under warranty so will go straight back in to dealer, but it would be nice to know what needs doing.

It may need a re-gas.  Mine needed one at two years old.  Two weeks after it was re-gassed, the system had kept pressure so they wouldn't look for the leak.

A year later I needed a new compressor  :congrats:

The AC fans don't turn on due to the low gas level if I am right.

I had a similar problem with my 57 plate Edition 30, went in under warranty and turns out all it needed was a new A/C pressure switch.

Thanks. They checked it out today. The electronic control switch had failed so this is being done under warranty. Also said it did need a regas too, apparently the enginner said there was lo px in the system as well, but having to pay for this.
