Title: RCD310 Help required
Post by: GLIDN on April 01, 2011, 05:03:57 am
Ok I installed a RCD310 into my 2005 Golf GTI finally.

The little issue I'm having is the following.

Sometimes the radio turns on and off correctly from the key. Other times I have to manually turn the radio on after car has been started, or turn the radio off after the key has been removed.

So do I need to make any changes in the CAN-BUS, to allow for the new radio?
or are the CAN-BUS cables swapped around in the mk6?
I have not yet checked which revision CAN-BUS Gateway I have. Otherwise I have to get new newer CAN-BUS I'm assuming.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi
you need a new Can Gateway or you will have a flat battery

I know that one. Thanks for that.
I use the car everyday. So not too worried about that.

More worried about above mention issue.

changing to a newer gateway should solve your problem

Ok, remembered what I had done. Duh

I had to run an aftermarket radio for the past 9 months. Got annoyed with the radio comm error everytime I scanned the car.

So I disabled the radio coding in the can-bus. That is why I was having this issue.

Thanks for your help.
