I have just been looking at VAG fixed price servicing with free MOTs cost is £349 this gets you 20,000 mls off servicing or two years ?. It said for cars 3 to 9 yrs old .
My ED30 is registered 31/05/2008 . So if i start the plan from JUNE 1 2011 my car will be 3yrs old and require a MOT and 3yr service. Next year it will be 4 and require a DSG service and cam belt would that be covered ? , I am guessing the answer is no .so what am i getting tia

I got one of those 2 year deals when i bought my ed30. it is just a basic 10k and 20k service and 2 mots in the 2 year period. I'm not that impressed with it but when spend 14.5k another £349 made no difference so i had it

I took this out at £299 last year, if you read the small print you get a brake fluid change included FOC
-
I took this out last year when it was £299. I was told about it when I booked my car in for the service. I will be having the second service/MOT next month.
The cambelt and DSG service is not included in the price. The DSG service is done at 40k miles not 4 years, although I suppose you can have it done when ever you want

I have this package and when the missus picked the car up they charged her for the brake fluid service. She assumed that I had authorised it. I hadn't so called back the next day for a refund, they actually told me then that it had been authorised on the plan. The service advisor was pleasant enough about it but would they have phoned me to refund it? I doubt it.
If I'm honest I'm a little disappointed with the pack, I assumed wrongly that I would get a major and a minor service as they advertise on the website. I did a price comparison based on this, car came back and it turns out you just get what is scheduled. I never got the air filter changed as I thought it would be, so this is job for today!

I fell into the same trap. I managed to get a refund for the brake fluid, and got a set of spark plugs aswell. I won't be bothering with the service plan again

me neither.. after the serive, they had left the large hose that connects the air intake to the engine unclipped!! just shockingingly shoddy!!
On another note, after the service, although they stamped the service book with what they did/didnt do, are you supposed to get a sheet describing what was done, what oil was used etc??
Thanks
Richard

All I got was a list of part numbers. Longlife oil isnt used as it isn't included in their service plan

Which section does it say about free brake fluid change?
-
I got a letter off vw finance two weeks after I paid, and it stated brake fluid change was included, it gives a list of what you get with the plan
-
spoke to the dealer about getting charged for the brake fluid change... they in turn spoke to VW finance..whoo a cheque for £50 is in the post back to me!!!! :happy2:
so anyone who also took out a service plan and paid for:
Brake Fluid Change
Spark Plug change
Pollen filter change
Fuel Filter change
Oil Filter change
get on the blower to the dealership who charged you to get a refund!

It's done on miles, not time so it's due every 40k miles. It says so on VW's website!
It was worth me taking out the service plan last year. I was due the 4th year service and an MOT which was quoted at around the £299 the service plan cost at the time. Not sure if I had the brake fluid changed or not but that might be this year.

You're right of course
I was thinking of Cambelt changes - should concentrate more !!

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if you can transfer your service plan to another car if it has been unused? would be good to know if anyone has before I ring my local dealers - they are not the most clued up and would be nice to argue the point if they say no.
cheers

I tried to transfer a Service plan a while ago, but they said it was against the Vehicle, so could transfer it to a new owner, but you are unable to take it with you and apply it to a new vehicle.

sorry, my fault, i think i misread..
the plan stays with the vehicle but is transferable to a different owner of he vehicle if you sell it.
Thanks QD for pointing that out :happy2:

I also gave VWFS a call again this morning, and they re-iterated that it would stay with the vehicle. I tried a while back to transfer it to my Ex GF's car.
Still damn good value though!

Bugger! Something else to add to my claim then... this accident is proving expensive!
Cheers lads
