Hi
I am wanting to get my GT TDI 140pd mapped, i have been quoted 180+bhp and around 300ft lb torque by a reputable Revo franchise.
My issue is that they say the turbo on this model is not the strongest and have experienced some going "POP" post map ! do i take my chances?
YES or NO (any 140 owners had this)
Advice welcome :happy2:
-
On the early models the turbo was a weak point, mine went at 35000 miles on the clock

Its just turned 76k, no evidence of it being replaced. Guess i'll just take my chances. Either way its getting done
Whats the damage on replacement ££
-
What year is your car, mine blew up on awesomes rolling road but they did warn me thou.cost 1200 to get it fixed
-
Its a 2005 05 plate. Dont tell me that, goin to Awesome too
-
It wasn't there fault as the turbo was making the owl siren noise, and they did warn me it might go on the rollers but I said I will take the risk, when you going to awesome
-
Not booked in yet, having a full service and Cam-Belt on Monday then i'll give them a ring. So probably a week or so.
-
my car is booked in at awesome for a remap & a short shifter on the 20th of april
-
Nice!! Looking at the short shifter and a boost gauge too.
If you dont mind me asking, what have they quoted you?
-
think it was £340 all in--they willdo the map for £250 because i have had work done thier before
-
BARGAIN !! Quoted me 350 for a custom map done on the RR.
-
Says on their web site custom map are 299
-
Thanks for that
-
No worries, can't decide to go for the awesome map or go to
R-tech and try one of their custom maps
-
Me too, its a dilemma. R-tech's website shows that they are using Revo software, so Awesome is much nearer for me and if owt goes wrong(please no) they are pretty much on the doostep.
Plus as you say as a regular customer you can achieve some good discounts too, which is always a BONUS !!
99% Decided on Awesome.

R-Tech remaps are R-Tech maps and custom wrote in house,
R-Tech are also midlands dealers for Revo maps so you get the best of both worlds, an Revo remap with the R-tech customer service and dyno setup skills.
-
R tech FTW
-
Have you got any modifactions to the engine coz ive got the 140 tdi and r-tech qutoed me £250 for custom map and i would a achieve 200bhp if i was to use a pipercross panel filter and a de-cat which i thought was quite good considering the standard is 140bhp and i would only be modifying two parts of the engine.
-
I got 200bhp with the mods you listed with my 140soot chucker
-
:signLOL: Soot chucker i've never heard a diesel be called that before so it is achieveable then beacause although i thought it was a good achievement from a 140 lump i did think he might have been shooting for the stars if you know what i mean :signLOL:
