some pretty good shots there Neil  :happy2: You using a monopod or free hand in tracking the object?

mucho improvement from the DTM outing last year  :signLOL:

I've tried the monopod Lee and turned of the stabilizer, the hard part for me is to find somewhere I can get to that has no wire fence, on most shots I seem to be a long way from the track and on full zoom which makes it hard to keep steady.

I think I'm getting there  :happy2:

Neil your panning shots are efibateky getting there! There's great! I might be wrong with this but keep the shutter speeds at 1/200 or slower to get a good blur of the back ground. Obviously the slower you go the harder it is but the shots look great. Obviously compensate with the iso or exp if that kind of shutter speed is letting too much light through.

On the whole though, some brilliant shots!

Some nice shots there. Panning is one of those things that youve just got to practice, and if you dont do it for a while it can take some time to get your arm 'back in'!

Set your Camera to Shutter Priority Mode - this wil alter the Apeture to compensate for changing light as you pan.

Set shutter Speed to between 1/120 and 1/60 or if your feeling lucky 1/40.

I usually use ISO of about 400.

Workout how/if your camera has a 3D Tracking AF mode.  

Then just practise mate try get a smooth motion and follow the car.

Here's one of mine from last year!

I think I rushed into buying a camera, should have gone for a Nikon or Canon EOS.

Here's a tip for anyone thinking of taking up photography, dont buy a camera just because you like the colour (red Lumix G2)  :ashamed:

Doesnt actually tell you how to bloody set the camera to use it tho! RTFM Job  :happy2:

Some good shots there mate!  I was there too, camera in hand.   I do go a bit crazy and took 511 shots (thank god for digital).

Will put some of money up on here somewhere if people don't mind...

im just getting into photography now, although ive had my camera (Canon 450d) for about 18 months !! im still absolutely crap, but im getting there !! at first i had no clue what all the settings were about, but think im figuring out what they all mean now !!! :D
