Title: Need some help with MFD2
Post by: a8ree on April 03, 2011, 11:59:35 am
Hi,

I just bought a 2005 Golf with the MFD2 system installed. There was a DVD in the glove box called Navigation Europa v4 (Blaupunkt). I popped the DVD in the drive but it didn't appear to like it. It has a few scratches on it so thought that maybe the issue.

The info menus show this
System - VW Radio Navigation MFD2
VW-No - 1T0035194D
MCM - V05.15R / 20050208
SH - v05.15 / 20050208
RP - V05.09 / 20050131

How can I verify that this is the DVD version?

I even tried downloading the CD maps v7 (Teleatlas United Kingdom and Ireland 2009 2010 DX) and running it but I got an incompatible message.

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Thats the CD navigation version

To burn the Blaupunkt discs you have to have a very specific CD burner and burning profile as the discs employ heavy copy and verification systems.

Might be best to buy a genuine one in this case.

Where's the best place to buy the CD from? or, any ideas of which type of burner works? I can normally lay my hands on a variety of computer stuff.

Is the CD I have downloaded the right one?

It sounds like the correct one, but I cant be of much more help on that.

teleatlas sell them direct, or somewhere like bluespot.co.uk to purchase them.

Hi Alex

For interest, what does a newer version give you? (apart from updated roads) - any other functionality?

Cheers
Richard.
