Hi guys!
Looking to change my engine mounts and, would like to know which ones some of you have gone for and why!? I don't want them to be rock hard as the car is an everyday car!
Also, which F&R Anti Roll Bars would you recommend?
Thanks in advance guys!
Phil

THS left and right (gearbox and engine) along with VWR lower in the subframe mate

Is that the set up you went for? Where dis you buy the ThS ones from and how much? Also the same with the VWR ones.. Know where to get them just the price please!! PM me if you'd like :happy2:

BUMP!
Need your help and opinions guys :happy2:

I had Eibach Front + Rear ARB's with the rear set hardest and the front on the softest setting (which is still way stiffer than OEM)
I had full VF mounts on mine which gave it a 6 pot turbo sound which was very nice. I chose VF Purely because I got them at a good price from a member on here.
-
And how would you rate them? Is your Car an every day Car?
-
I take it you mean the mounts?
Yes the car was an everyday car (I have since sold them on as I sold the car) and the missus drove it the most as I travel a lot so use the diseasel. She never complained so that's a good indication
They transfer a lot of the engine noise to the cabin but not so much that it's too intrusive. Even at M'Way speed :happy2:

Thanks, Carl!
Sorry to bombard you with questions but which mounts did you change and, is it worth changing all the mounts? :happy2:
-
Fire away with Questions mate. It's what the forum is for :happy2:
I changed the Engine, Gearbox & lower mount and imho if your going to do it you might as well do them all.

I have the VF complete kit and its great :happy2:
and Eibach anti roll bar front and rear
they are nice combo
-
ths engine mounts - nice upgrade, noise into cabin is pleasant not nasty
eibach arb's as per the above
-
Thanks very much guys! I think I've made up my mind with regards to the F&R Roll Bars as, absolutely everyone has said Eibach so, will be going with those... I'm going to check out the price on the VF complete set and the THS complete sets now

My setup is the KW roll bars which have adjustment front and rear. I run the THS top engine mounts with the Vibratechnics/VWR lower mount. The mounts are not harsh and dont cause any noticable vibration through the cabin.

i had the eibach front and rears and found the car a little more neutral than i would have liked. still much much better than stock, but would have prefered a 'looser' back end :chicken:  very very predictable though. Before selling up i was looking at removing the eibach rear bar, and replacing it with the BSH 27mm rear :laugh:anti roll bar then it would have been alot more over-steer biased.
if you after safe predictable handling, with neutral handling, i think the eibachs are perfect. if you after a more pointy car you need a stiffer rear bar

Why change the engine mounts? The OEM ones do the same job don't they? Do you change because the nous is better :ashamed:
-
Noise and also stops the engine flexing in the bay which can put stress on things like turbo down pipes etc
-
There's quite a lot of slack in the oem ones so to tighten everything up and prevent wheelspin, uprated engine mounts is a must
-
I have BSH side mounts and THS lower mount. There not intrusive and transmit a good sound into the cabin.
Benefits are pretty much no wheel hop and reduced wheel spin, very little engine movement if at all and therefore better gear changes and no broken exhaust downpipes and as above tightens everything up at the front.

Can someone post a link to the engine mounts that need replacing to improve the gear change as its quite poor for such a nice sporty car (Edition 30) . Is it a DIY job?

Uprated engine mounts are an absolute must and one of my best mods. They go hand-in-hand with any serious power increases you're planning to make. I went for the full VWR set-up (Side engine mount, Transmission mount and Lower engine mount) however by all accounts the THS mounts will do the same job. Highly recommended.
