Title: Annoying black plastic bolt.
Post by: Gtiain on April 07, 2011, 07:56:14 pm
Changing the rear lights to edition 30 ones. Got three done but the last one (inner on the drivers side) is not finger tight and the person who had the car before has worn the plastic so it's pretty much round, I can't get any purchase with the spanner. Tried to get pliers in but it's in such an awkward place I can't get them in. Its seriously doing my head in, I'm so wound up as I've changed three and can't change this one! Has anyone got any bright ideas for me?

Use a junior hack saw blade and cut a slot in the head of the bolt then use a large flat screwdriver on it???

That's a good idea, it's going to have to wait until I get home though as I'm in Christchurch now With work and dont have any tools. That's a great idea though thanks.  :happy2:

Unless anyone is near Christchurch and is willing to help?  :happy2:

Your technique worked mate! Except I used a steak knife that I used to eat my tea! I've made a bit of a mess of the bolt so is it possible to get a spare one of these stupid little things?
