Fancy it? Recently resurfaced with super high grip stuff and although smallish, it's very technical and fun.
Usual Circuit Days format. No ebay sh*tters, no idiots... Big crowd of my mates going, so it'll be a fun day out.
Free tuition, free passenger, free extra drivers. Just put fuel in and enjoy.

The Mrs said we should have a weekend away, I thought she said Holyhead not Hollywood, and their just happens to be a track day down the road :happy2:
Tony haven't been here before, how's the circuit, fairly accessible?

Loads of nice places in Wales to stop for a weekend, I really like Abersoch. On the day your missus can even walk around the track and sit on the beach to while away the hours on the day :happy2:
Getting to it is easy enough, takes about 20 minutes once your onto Craggy Island (it's bigger than you think). A5 takes you most of the way fairly quickly and then you follow a B-road for a few miles before getting to the track which is on the coast road. Everything at the track is wheelchair friendly, as far as I can remember.
My old Golf went well round there, it seems a small track, but it's much better with all the new additions for the GP - although Coastal is still my favourite layout due to the certain death!

Cheers mate, going to stay the night before and after as its a bit of a trip from Essex.
She may need earphones :signLOL:
-
Been to Anglesey twice, my only trackdays and loved it, did two track formats coastal and international, the coastal layout is a bit easier on the brakes and includes the corkscrew which is a grin

What a day, what a bloody day!!!
I'll write more soon, but for now whoever built Neil's car deserves a medal, it's absolutely fantastic. I've some good footage of me chasing it for a while too.
-
Looking forward to your write up Tony :happy2:
-
Was a great day!
Neil's car is fantastic, I've got a few pics of the day I'll stick up later on.

-
Cheers Rich. :happy2:
-
Cheers, I'll edit that later.
Oh yes, it got a royal hooning. Superb track, deffo should be on everyones to-do list.
-
Were is this video of Neils.
-
Just being processed in iMovie.
In short though, it's fecking fast and so planted its untrue. I was following it for ages and it's just glued to the track, which I suppose is perfect when you've got so much to do with just your hands, you don't want something loose - he's very smooth with it too.

Well what a fantastic little circuit, well worth the 2 night stay and 600 mile round trip, must be the most picturesque track in the UK. Mostly motorway from Essex and the car was surprisingly easy to live with on a long trip, I even caught the Mrs having a nap :happy2:
Some tight and technical stuff at Anglesey (although we didn't get the Cork screw on this layout which I'm told is great), and for a second it looks like you’re going to launch yourself into the Irish Sea, really enjoyed the day with Mike and his mates the track suits smaller more nimble cars but the Ed30 seemed to do alright.
Mrs M was on (very windy) camera & Video duty, bless

Cheers for the pic of mine! :happy2:
Your car was great, very impressed with it and it was rapid. Just to put in to context on the video my silver golf (at the start) is around 190bhp/340ft lbs torque and just tiny bit slower than a standard GTI. Very impressed.
Got some photos i'll stick up at some point!
-
First session.
-
Loved that. :drinking: Nice one Mike. How scenic is Anglesey. :notworthy: That little old green Elise was travelling. They only weigh betwenn 600-650 KG.
-
I was still coasting at that point, you'll see a bit more speed in the next two to come.
Brilliant track and perfectly suited to nimble cars, means everyone is reasonably evenly matched on the day.
-
Video 2 chasing NeilM, well, trying to....
-
Nice one Mike, where are those blue flags when you need them :signLOL:
Your Clio is perfect for Anglesey, it sounds great as well, what system do you use to record, its very good quality, my camcorder keeps shutting down, (the vibrations I think).
Had a great day, looking forward to another trip there :happy2:
-
Think it's a GoPro HD camera Neil.
Is it the wide lens or standard Mike? I'm after one, been saving up for a while whenever I've seen the videos the quality looks great.
-
looks like a great day fellas :happy2:, love Anglesey but have nothing to really compare it too, I'm goin back in June with my pal in his Elise :happy2:
-
Yeah, GoPro HD - it has a few different settings for widescreen and normal, amongst other things.
