If it a 1.2 TSI, its actually quite nice to drive, and surprsingly ecconomical, i was getting 54mpg out of mine during the week.
-
Funnily enough I was following a Red Edition 30 this afternoon and that was fookin' slow as well.

It's not. It's gutless heap of rubbish that isnt even very economical.

Well, i was just happy having a car i could park anywhere and forget about it, yeah the engine is gutless compared to the GTI, but for crawling through traffic in a morning it was fine.

I agree it's marginally better than no car at all, but I do beg to differ - low-lifes dont tend to selectively vandalise cars, several were damaged when my R32 was keyed. Including a basic but brand new Fiesta. This Golf is bright red, shiny and pretty new. That's more than enough to attract attention. They arent going to check the boot lid before getting out the screw drivers. And when it happened to a friend, he diesel Astra, the pikeys just ran a key down the side of a whole line of cars. Again, not targeted.
Fortunately, our underground residents parking has now had security sufficiently beeded up, so it's wont be a problem any more.
It would need to be an old Mk3 before I stopped caring about where I left it - and even then, it becomes a soft target as it's easier to pinch. So new or old, top spec or poverty spec, these scumbags don't really care.
On a day like today, I am absolutely hating it. I can't roll down the windows, open the sun roof and just go for drive enjoying the noise and on-tap torque. This Mk6 takes all the fun out of driving.
For the record, it's a 1.4 Twist with 80bhp. It's not even a DSG and the even the radio reception is crap.
