Title: Blackberry problem
Post by: Mk5GolfGTI on April 10, 2011, 05:23:48 pm
My blackberry (bold 9700) has been really slow recently.. since about 2days ago. For example, if i get a text i get the vibration but the red star doesnt appear next to the text icon til a good few seconds later. Or, if i click the menu button or if i scroll or do anything theres usually a few seconds where my fone freezes and then everything suddenly happens at once.  Frustrating!

Any one know anyything about bb;s?

Cheers. J

Have you rebooted (remove battery and power on again).

What software version is it running?

Right, so check your software version.

Options... About... iirc

It'll be something like 5.0.1.244 or 6.0.1.203 etc

she's on OS 5.

Did you have the phone on when you took the battery out? it needs to be.

Press and hold the blackberry button see what's running.

Make sure you do a backup if you plug it into your laptop. In options in BBM you have the option to backup your contact list onto the memory card.

How do you know its OS5, you can get OS6 for 9700 ;)

Also, I'd advise updating to latest version anyway, even sub versions can make a big difference to BBs.

Why would i need to back up my bbm contacts? How does that relate?

I've just sold my Bold and got an iPhone 4. Much better  :P

Do you have a lot of files on your BB? Mine seemed to slow down when it was almost full :fighting:

That or it may have been due to going through the washer.
