OK,
Took my car in to Breeze VW Poole. There at 8:30am. Drop car of and go off in courtesy car. 5.00pm I'm still waiting to hear anything so call. They say they currently looking at it (understand it's not a paying job but still!) and waiting for a report to come back but think it's the waterpump and cambelt require to cause the squeak/scuffing noise at idle... then she says which wasn't done by the dealer prior to selling and they need to get authorisation to get it done... Great :(
They better not be thinking i'm gonna pay, as i noted this to the dealer a few days after collection and been waiting to get in in the local dealer...
Surely this is warranty issue?

Aye itll be covered under goodwill
Did it come from Breeze?
-
Have you got proof of you telling the other dealer?
-
Na bought from a welsh dealer, and yes I've got the email I sent, saying about the noise from engine...
Hopefully be all covered... They mentioned it requires a 40k service in 3200miles... Now I have done just over 2000miles in it since having, should this have been done before I bought? They said it had been serviced not that long ago...?
-
Result, they've just booked in for Monday to have the cambelt and water pump replaced... under warranty... woohooo!
Then off to APS for a 40k service and remap in May... :)
Sorted.

Who are APS...dont you mean APD? :signLOL:
-
Na was going to go to http://www.autops.co.uk/
As they used to service and modify my R32 and kept it in tip top conditon... all really top people and work is top notch, plus they used to run an edition 30 development car and can guarantee 300bhp stage 1... using bluefin and their own map from their development car...

Interesting. May have to take a look at this!

The Saga continues grrr...
Dropped the car off today... go off in the courtesy car... get a call about 10am saying the car will need cambelt idler pulleys to complete the job, which are not covered under warranty, and are £147... This is bloody rediculous... So have emailed Anthony motors (aberystwyth) as they wouldn;t pay for a cambelt, now it needs this and i refuse to pay... It should have been sorted prior to my purchase!! If i'd know I would have taken it back under the 1000mile/1month return policy.
Have opened a case with Volkwagen UK also and await to hear if they are going to pay, which in no doubt they'll refuse.
What more can I do?

If they agreed to replace the cambelt and water pump under warranty and they need to replace this part to complete the job then thats what they need to do, just because the part isn't covered under warranty as a wear and tear doesnt mean it shouldnt be replaced as necessary work under a warranty claim.
-
I agree with rich. If its a part required to complete the task, its the job in total that is the warranty work rather than the specific parts.
Speak to the service manager (hes called Steve. If they put you through to Sean, demand to speak to Steve)
-
That's what I would have thought too... anyway I've fired an email into the supplier dealer and spoken with VW UK... re booked in on the 28th April..
APD are doing the 40k service (@32500miles) next Tuesday...
