Title: Fitting an Intake

Is there a guide on fitting an intake anywhere?

I basically just need to know if I'll be able to do it myself or if it's a bit tricky!

I am a complete dunce when it comes to cars, and I have fitted a BSH intake and a twintake myself.
They are really pretty self explanatory. :happy2:

Post by: bacillus on April 13, 2011, 05:57:02 pm: Just get the proper pliers for removing the clamp at the turbo side and everything should be straight forward even for a novice. It's possible to not need the pliers but they really makes the job so much easier.

I've bought a Neuspeed P-Flo intake. I assume as you say it's fairly easy to fit but I don't want to have any problems! ...And I don't really want to pay garage labour costs if I could do it myself either!

Post by: big al on April 13, 2011, 09:22:37 pm: That's a pretty straightforward one to fit, just unclip the air intake pipe at the rear end, closest to the windscreen.
Remove the sensor, take off the cover, and probably using jubilee clips fix the new one in.

The intake arrived today - looks great! As I bought it second hand I think I made need buy another hose clip to attach it to the turbo... is that correct or can I reuse one that's already on the car?

IMO it would be easier to use a jubilee clip.

handy tool, as pretty much all cars are loaded with clamps like this so if your into DIY mechanical work they are a great buy

Any idea what size jubilee clips I need to attach the silicon pipe to the turbo (K04)?

Found a guide on installing an intake on K04 cars and it looks like I'll need a 50-70mm clip on the side connected to the turbo and then 60-80mm on the side connected to the intake pipe?
