Im debating on whether on not to remap my tdi sport and just wanted some info from you guys. benefits / costs etc and enything id need additionally like bigger brakes maybe?
thanks for any help
-
Don't debate, just do it! I can't think of a single argument for buying a VAG TDI (or TSI, TFSI etc) and not re-mapping it!!! Easier to drive, better throttle response, more flexible, often smoother, sometimes a bit better economy, oh, and maybe even a tad quicker too
May be worth upgrading to GTI brakes which isn't expensive but you don't need mega brakes for a sensibly driven road car. If you just stick to a stage 1 re-map then brakes and suspension will cope as standard, then just replace as money dictates unless bits wear out on the car anyway and you have an ideal excuse........ :happy2:

-
just do it
-
Do and die, and don't ask why? :signLOL:
Seriously, I had my car remapped within the first three months since I had it new. I wanted to let my car settle in for a thousand or two miles.
Boy, did it make a difference!!! :driver:
I think with the TDis you can in some cases expect to get 15-20% more fuel economy in addition to torque gains....and it's all about torque!!!
-
Do not hesitate, get it done :happy2:
I had my old TDI sport mapped and it felt like I had a new car :happy2:
-
go for it i'm a total remap convert :happy2:
-
Do it !
It just makes it more driveable .... so much nicer
-
I've had 4 TDI's (2 TDi 140's) and have remapped them all. Without fail, all of them have been great. Extra power, torque and enhanced economy = no brainer :happy2:
-
just had mine done and im happy :D
-
That's a he'll yeah then. So where's the best place? Prices and what increase will I see from my 105 pc (bhp)
-
Generally you would see an improvement of between 25% to 40%. So that is 130 to 145bhp and probably up to around 220 to 235lbft.

i'll let you know what its like
-
is that on a stock car, or do you have other mods?
-
its ttly stock atm, so looking for improvments
-
suggestions for some basic modding:
- cold air induction kit - improve air flow into the "dragon"
- sport/performance springs to lower car and improve driving/braking dynamics
- performance exhaust
That should keep you busy for a while
