Title: A Sachs performance Clutch with an LUK Flywheel?
Post by: Edition_30_P on April 16, 2011, 07:26:24 am
As per title does anyone know if This is ok to run on the Car? My mate does the same on his 2007 S3 with know problems but, not sure if it will be ok to do so on my ED30?

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Thank you in advance!

Phil

I would have to disagree, I ran this on my previous GTI and it still slipped and made a very loud wobble sound on tick over. VWR removed it and said they no longer change the clutch only, it should be mated up with the Sachs flywheel.

You can disagree but I ran this set up for over 40k so I know full well how much this works  :P I only started to get slip once I had the diff fitted as the car had suddenly got all the grip it never had so I then changed to the full race set up  :P. If I was you I would put the full kit in as the box is out so you might as well

I'm only going by what I experienced and listening to the advice of Matt and Simon at VWR. :happy2:

Ahhhhhh that might have been what VWR were saying, they won't sell the clutch plate without the cover plate now! :ashamed: As you were! :innocent:

In my defence there was no mention of the cover plate until Gaz mentioned it! :P then it jogged my memory....come on it has been 6-8 months since I discussed this with Matt. I am getting old! :ashamed:
