Title: Upgrade to Highline (Ed30)
Post by: DaveR77 on April 17, 2011, 11:15:16 am
I've found a car that ticks all the boxes except it doesn't have a Highline computer, will it be Midline or Lowline?

What would be my options to upgrade, I know vwcruise can do it for around £500, is there a cheaper option, does it need a full cluster?

cheers

Being an ED30 unfortunately it will be too 'new' to be able to do the swap without specialist equipment.

VW dealer,VW cruise or Hazzy Dayz will be the only routes but even they might not be able to do it.

My ED30 0nly has midline & i can live with it. If the car is mint & low miles etc i wouldn't be put off by it.

To be honest the highline is only really worth having if you intend to have factory/fiscon bluetooth and/or sat nav IMO.

Shark performance can also fit and code the cluster for you.

TBH fitting the cluster isn't the difficult bit. It's programming it to work with the car and for this you need a specific cluster based on your current one.

A few people have done this and I'm sure if you search for it, you'll find the info.
