Really want to go down this route next and have being having a good read about different makes and people's views on them. What's people's experience with wavetrac diffs iv just had a interesting read at thiss and it would seem they say it kicks arse over the others including the big names, I was pretty much set on a quaife as it's a know quality brand. And after reading this I may have changed my mind... What are your thoughts???? Thanks.

It was more about is wavetrac considered better than quaife or is it just a case of it's a really good alternative??

IMO they are all quite the same, Wavetrac, Quaife and Peloquin. only thing that sets the wavetrac apart is it having a waveprofiles that help in zero axle-load conditions:

my next choice after the wavetrac is Peloquin as it offers a complete package, all parts needed for fitting is included :smiley:

The wavetrac is quite an old design and a design that has a high wear rate, but ive not heard of any problems with the wavetrac diffs.
If there was a way of turning off the edl/xds and the traction control fully then that would really help the LSD/ATB diffs work to their full potential.
I have Peloquins high torque version diff on the vRS. Kicks in really nicely.

Thanks for that info Alex! That's interesting I'm really after a fit and forget jobbie as once it's in I don't plan on ever taking it out again. Is there such a diff that can be like that or do they all need some attention every now and then??

Edl and xds are the same thing and all it does is apply the brakes slightly to the wheel thats slipping. This system is pants. All it does is slow you down and overheat the brakes.
Ive not had the 7spd apart yet, and no one has made a diff for it that im aware of. I will make some inquiries. It would be a great mod on the lightweigh cars like the vRS etc.

Your a star. taking it off topic for a sh :happy2:rt moment :ashamed: i know you guys race cars, so im presuming you have top end geometry measurement gear there? Ive ordered some springs and rear ARB for mine, and want the geometry changed to a fast road/track set up. think the front camber/castor is fixed but the back is adjustable and obviously toe

Yeah we have just got a new hunter alignment system and some nice new corner weights. Is the front camber adjustable on the fabia or can you get some adjustable top mounts for it?

dont think so on adjustable front camber and no idea on top mounts
