guys i got a gti mk5 dsg
i just bought a down pipe and decat
amd say if i buy the cat back miltek resonated system from them the will do the remap for half price
atotall of £790 all in
they are sayin i should see 260 /270 bhp
ive booked it for the 27th of this month
is there any thing eles i can buy to get a few more bhp out of her :stupid:

Problem is, Cat back does nothing for performance. You'd be better of spending the money and getting a REVO map.

You might see 270 BHP, but that will be as a Ed 30/ stage 1 drives past. :laugh:

he'll see 270Hp @ stage 2 on AMDs rollers, but it wont be in reality.
Made 280Hp on Amds rollers with the AMD stage 2.......

Took the same car to JKMs just after the above for a RR day and made less than the REVO stage 2 guys by a couple Hp.

So you might make 270-280 on AMDs but realistically you are nowhere near that. Dont be disheartened though as if you look at the torque and power curves in the second graph and they are very good. He was also running the stock intake as well so with an intake he'd be making another 10-15hp.
My car with bluefin stage 2+ made 287hp on AMDs rollers and 252hp on DD rollers. Go figure...
The deal they have offered you isnbt that good IMO. You dont need the Cat back to make power, it'll only give noise. If you were to go shark performance/REVO/PTorque etc you could get the stage 2 map and an intake for that price, and will make more power IMO

If you go revo map stage 2 with the downpipe then you will be getting roughly 250 give or take abit. There are loads of extras you can get but depends how deep your pocket goes. Stage 2+ will see you to 270 280. You will need the high pressure fuel pump for that also. Then depending on how well you want it to run I.e smooth you can add bigger intercooler intake rs4 fuel valve uprated the dv. Have a search around for reviews :happy2:

You have the REQUIRED hardware for stage 2 already (ie the downpipe) so you can go straight for stage 2 remap, and as TrickGTI says, you will be running around 250Hp ish. Basically your car will be similar to the second graph i posted with respect to power.
then at your own leisure you could fit the cat back exhaust and intake with no need to tweak the map.
Thats just my opinion though. others will say get the full system, but that will just five you noise

I had all my work done at AMD, and was quite happy with their service.
I have the full Milltek TBE, HPFP and a piper cross venom intake. On their rollers I achieved just over 280 bhp and 320 lbs/ft torque. PM me if you want to have a chat.

They do a before and after so unless they are really ripping people off then you will see how much more you are getting, mine went from around 150bhp to 193bhp. I have always been happy with the service they give especially when my turbo went pop on the rollers and they dealt with the 3rd party warranty and got it all sorted for me.

I thought their RR was more accurate of late? My MK1 Octavia VRS ran 210 with map, intake and dv, having said that a colleague has a Vrs with TBE, Intake, FMIC, 4 bar fuel pressure regulator and went to stg 2 last week and made 220 on their rollers which doesn't seem too outrageous?

the season BTCC has just started again so no doubt they had it recalibrated. same happened this time last year and it was producing normal figures.
Few months on and the big figures were back.
