I have noticed now that the fans come on straight away when I start the engine up, trying to cool it down when it is stone cold. It goes off after about 10 mins, well one does. This is not normal is it?

Mine does the same when the air con is on.

Press the econ button turning the air con off and see if it still does it....

My air con stills works fine so not sure why it does this?

I never use the air con though so its off always. I will try this though.

Yes - it goes into VW next week for 2 days so they can take a look. Its all on warranty

I had both fans replaced under warranty last week because of this.
