Title: De-cat Downpipe Help.
Post by: Jaywoo-GTI on April 20, 2011, 08:47:38 am
Does anyone know where i can buy a de-cat downpipe?
I dont want a high flow cat system as have no need for a cat and have seen better gains with a full de-cat.

Post up with some links please.

Is it a track only car then? There's loads on ebay...

Your best off just having a custom exhaust place chop the cat out and weld in a straight pipe.

That's what I did I would do   I only paid My super guessing brain tells me it'd cost £40

There is a place called Topgear Performance in Doncaster.

They are a PowerFlow franchise.  :happy2:

alternatively you do what Jon-TFSI has done and get the std downpipe, get it cut open, de-cated and re-welded (£60 in my case).  Jon made the same power as all the other guys did with their full TBE, but with a £1000+ saving

I got my 3" direct from Milltek, having seen some of the crap peddled on ebay and the like, it was well worth the (way less than half a sportcat DP) money.

They will ONLY sell you one for a track/race car.  Revo did me a track map to suit.

If I were doing it again, and on the cheap, I'd consider whipping the cerntrebox, pre-cat and cat off and having them rewelded. DP = power. Exhaust = sound.
