Title: New member - need a little advice!
Post by: Gti6boy on April 21, 2011, 06:40:57 pm
Hi, me and my partner have been in to peugeots for the last 10 years and we both drove track cars on the road every day. We now have a little boy and decided to sell up and purchase a golf gti as a good all rounder

It has all the extras, leather, sat nav ect. I purchased it with a couple of faults as i do most work myself.

It has two lights up on the dash...Epc and the exhaust light. I have use of an engine diagnostic kit so i plugged it in to get the codes

The first code is control unit check sum error, this will not switch off

The second is p0441 fuel evaparation system inadequate effect. I did notice while driving that it was lacking boost to i took the recirculating valve out and it had a big split in so i put on a forge valve which has worked a treat. I then turned off the exhaust light but 1hr later it has come back on

Any ideas

Thanks

I have put it back on the diagnostic machine again today and the exhaust fault is not coming up anymore but the light comes back on when you turn it off

Any ideas?
