Hi folks,
Currently on the hunt for a new car but, I can't make my mind up!
I would ideally like a manual White ed30 3 door but, I can't seem to find one :sad1:
I'm currently looking at a mini cooper s Gp, are the any good?
Ive got a budget of around 14k so any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated :happy2:
Cheers
Max

Thanks for the link mate :happy2:
And I will take OFFERS around the asking price!

ED30 or Mini Cooper S? ED30 all day long. No question really

I'd love an eddy and love to come see your cw mate but I'll prolly end up going to a stealer as I need to move my gti first, they seem to take a while to shift these days. :sad1:
Just find it hard to find anything that's as a complete package as the mk5.
Ed30, 135i, 123d, GTD mk6 my shortlist to date, may test drive a rocco but there's something there I just don't like but don't know what it is.

Well i have a Mini and an ED30. The Mini is too small but is a great car to drive . Practically though it is useless. ED30 is the best all round car i have ever had. Has it all..... apart from Economy ! Great value for money and great build quality aswell

I swapped my Mk5 GTi for a GP, both great cars but totally different. The GP is great fun to drive but not the most practical car due to only having two seats, the GTi is a great all rounder though
Depends really on what you want or need
:happy2:

Mini GP only has 2 seats right?
Would be fun to drive but I would be all over a CW ED30. Have you tried DSG? I like manual but you cant beat the gear changed in the DSG.

135i

The wait is starting to pay off! A couple of well spec'd ED30s Are on piston heads but, I can't decide! Is the red paint prone to fading and stone chips? What one would you say is best? I'm swinging towards the red one after seeing a few beauties on here and my previous car was a black gti so fancy a change. I would love a candy White but, the budget will not allow! What do ye think? Go for one of these or wait for a candy White albeit probably with high miles/low spec?

They both look like they've got a nice spec. I love the red and as long as it's maintained properly, it will look beautiful.

You cant really compare a Mini and a Golf, the Golf is great but the mini is super fun when setup properly. I have a MCS works as a runabout, like any car it annoys me after a while but then if I dont use if for a while I miss the extra fun you can have in it, jump back into it and the fun begins again.
Really depends on what you want out of it, Golf is more practical and if for everyday use etc then Ed30 would be ideal.

135i
I love mine, totally different car to the ED30 I traded from but the 135i is simply amazing in every way. Budget of £15k wont get you much though.
15k will get you into a nice 335d SE though

I will probably get shot down in flames here, but you not consider a Focus ST, I came from one and loved it, and if all goes to plan will have another one before too long.
Dont get me wrong the Gti is a nicer place to sit but everything else in my opinion the ST was better.
I might be an isolated case but was expecting better from the GTI, I have had it just over a year 33k on the clock and wee niggly things just put me off:
parking sensors stopped working
volume on cd player does whatever it pleases
speakers on the drivers side of the car work when they want.
DSG gearbox novelty wears of pretty quick. fun bein schumi for half an hour. but up hiils kicks down gears when the car has more than enough torque to get it up in the gear it was in.
Like I said i might have just got a bad egg but just dont get excited about goin a drive anymore. mine isnt an ED30 and maybe if it was and manual and everything worked as it should then I might feel the same as the rest of the die hard dubbers on here, but in my experience the ST was better and everybit as practical if not more so. albeit a little more thirsty but thats maybe due to the fact you put your foot down more to hear the noise of the 5pot.
Will probably get bood off stage but just my opinion on what you could look at for a new car. :ashamed:

Red ed30 for me, but I'm biased :happy2:
