Guys need some words of wisdom.
Just took out a oct2009 GTD mk6 (obviously), dsg, updated wheels, cruise, no bluetooth etc no nav, leather or sunroof or hea seats or parking sensors.....3000 miles on the clock.
I can basically get her for what I am paying per month on my gti.

I notice that the dual climate display is in the radio, so can someone advise if I changed to an rns 510 how that would still operate.

Yes - the display would work with the rns510.

Nice and easy to sort that one; VCDS needed to enable BAP on the car, then all steering wheel and computer nav functions will work along with still being able to see the climate controls on the RNS.
In fact, from memory the climate controls may work before you BAP enable the car.
Parking sensors not really needed, camera easy to add. Leather not really needed as standard seats look pretty cool. Sunroof nice to have but not the end of the world.

Vw were punting some panasonic jobby for £995 fitted....obviously I would wouldnt go there but would want an rns510 ASAP. Great news.....
I think I may go for this, photo bucket seems to be playing up but I can essentially get an almost new car, with cheaper running costs and including servicing and additional warranty for the same money I outlay per month.....
Think I will miss my lovely gti :sad1:

I would do it in a flash

^^^^ but I've got an iPad. :star:
Deal is off :sad1:
Muppet sales person got sums wrong and didn't explain the deal correctly.
Bollox gutted :sad1: :sad1:

If it sounds too good to be true....
:sad1:

Exactly.....I repeated the deal back to him several times too. I didn't have a calculator with me either, i don't know much about buying cars really, it's his job to get the facts correct and ensure that it's explained to the customer, #fail
I'd rather not go into the details of my finances on line so cant really explain it further, but his finance calculation was out by several thousand :signLOL:
Nothing lost, nobody got hurt...I just got a bit excited at the prospect of a new car....and btw I am now seriously considering a GTD ..... As long as it's a dsg :notworthy:

What did you think about how it drove?
I did over 100 miles in one and wasnt impressed at all. Didnt feel like a 170 Diesel. Power delivery felt different with it being a common rail engine to the older TDI engine.

Well tbh I was only out around 30 mins we had no motorway driving. I was quiteimpressed by it's poise and pulling power. Last time I drove a Gt tdi mk5 (170) the front end tramped everywhere mind you this was a dsg the former a manual.
I did notice a significant lag from around 20mph but I was in a 30 zone and also didn't notice which gear I was in. All up I liked it and whilst not a patch on the 135i I drove on Monday the GTD was a nicer place to be.
