Title: usb v ipod dock/cd changer cable

Hi All

Am i right in thinking that all the above use the same cable ? I have only ever seen one cable listed for vw head unit to armrests... does anyone know different??

Yes, the CD/iPod/USB use the same interface lead

They changed it when it came to MDI  :happy2:

what is MDI?? Is that the usb dock??

Mdi is the newer interface for rns510 etc units which gives full iPod control etc

Yes thats an MDI kit. Allows an AUX/USB/iPod interface with full control and file browsing etc

cool , ive got a load of them coming up soon. ill need to look at getting that cable too i guess

cheers mate. just testing the water. i think i can get the dock and cable and sell for around the £100 mark. do you thing thats a good deal??

I think you have to get the dock, the cable, and the usb and ipod interface leads for £100 for it to be a good deal

You can get those two together for under £100 through ebay

ah i now see... it looks like you can plug in the ipod white cable to that.

It wont work

You have to use the MDI->iPod lead to get an iPod working on it.

An iPod lead into the MDI->USB lead will not work
