Title: S3 rear brakes fitted
Post by: scooba on April 27, 2011, 07:28:09 pm: I fitted the S3 rears today ,I am well pleased they look great ,big thankyou to Mr daveb for sorting them out very pleased with the finish and service provided .

I had the first set done at Wheel Works Crawley ,The set I am removing im thinking off sending to lepsons ,They are a logistical nightmare and as I am more than happy with CCW they may just go there.

Hi Mate , had a few issues with the rears but they are really something else Davebs work was worth the wait .Fronts and backs now on and some new R pad clips fitted today as well ,Did you see the 730b BT kit for sale ,I was under the assumption i needed the 729b to work with Red highline .

WWC are 45mins from me and yes I am happy with the wheels colour is spot on and the quality off the work is fine,The wheels i had done were only lightly scuffed ,What have you done with your Brakes ? did you buy a set from SERE ?

I was in bmautosport a couple off weeks ago and Mark uses Lepsons and here work is off the highest std ,I am tempted to let them do this set just as a trial .

Just buy the calipers nothing else from Sere cheap enough flog yours and recover most off the money

Post by: muckipup on April 28, 2011, 11:29:09 am: I fitted my S3 rears last weekend after refub'ing them myself. I didn't get a reply to my emails to DaveB so had a shot at it myself and had a local friend with powdercoating facilities sort them out in red. It was a pain stripping them down and even more so getting them back together but I got there in the end :rolleye:

To be honest, by the time that I had bought new seals (even though existing ones were in reasonable shape) plus the VAG lithium grease (which can only be compared to printer ink and platinum for the cost per gram!) and slaved over the calipers, I wish I had just sent them away! A lot of hassle for not much gain in braking performance as expected.
