Title: Adding extra speakers to 8 speaker car Wiring harness part numbers

Hi all,  trying to help a friend out who is about to buy an 58 reg R32 it has lots of extras but not the extra front speakers and he is trying to cost up fitting the upgraded speaker install that I did on my GTI. 

I have been unable to determine if the door wiring harness is different between the 8 and 10 speaker cars but have found that the door harness changes between 6 and 10 and sound pack cars based on the following PR codes, could someone with ETKA confirm if the PR code descriptions are correct and if there is a PR code for 8 speakers (or even better someone who has 8 speakers know if the wiring is still in place and just the speaker missing?)

P 8RA    without speakers
P 8RL    6 speakers (passive)
P 8RV    10 loudspeakers (passive)
P 8RW    10 speakers (passiv.) with frequency section. filter

So based on my info and the PR codes above the correct part number for the 10 speakers (passiv.) with frequency section filter for a 58 reg car would be one of these:

(1)   1K9 971 120 A   harness for door (drivers side) F >> 1K-7-399 000*                      1   PR-8RW
(1)   1K9 971 120 AJ   harness for door (drivers side) F 1K-8-300 001>> 1K-8-343 870*      1   PR-8RW
(1)   1K9 971 120 P   harness for door (drivers side) F 1K-8-343 871>>*                              1   PR-8RW

passenger

(1)   1K5 971 121 AE   harness for door   (passenger side)      F >> 1K-7-399 000*               1   PR-8RW
(1)   1K5 971 121 BJ   harness for door   (passenger side)         F 1K-8-300 001>>*       1   PR-8RW

Also would anyone be able to confirm what ETKS lists the price for the wiring looms and also the cross over filter for the upgrade kit with part number 1K0 051 463 C

Any help would be greatly appreciated to get me over the hump on this one  :drinking:

I can have a look later on ETKA  :happy2:, but I think the loom is different as it was a specific option for 10 speakers

I have the 8 speaker setup, there is NO wiring to the doors! I was interested in installing myself the front mid's as well. I did interestingly have a mid screwed onto the drivers (not plugged in) and no mid on the passenger side (but i know why).

As soon as I noticed no wiring for it, I gave up with my small knowledge of electrics.

Alex interested to know what ETKA says about the part numbers and PR codes above and pricing on them and the cross overs  :happy2:

Barratt that confirms that new wiring will be required although will have a check  :sick:
