Title: surprising milly quote
Post by: no golf clubs at all on April 28, 2011, 02:25:24 pm
Guys quick check I am considering whether to go oem or milly twin, after taking of my quads (for cosmetic reasons).

I asked for a quote from a local milly supplier and they stated £299.99 including vat and fitting.

Seems cheap, but I confirmed it as to "supply and fit rear box with 80mm tail pipes inc vat." (think he is confused as teh milly site says 70mm)

Is this the correct item on the milltek site, item 6 and item 7, non res and res.

http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=159 (http://www.millteksport.com/exhaust.products.cfm?variantid=159)

by the time I get an oem I have my eye on, including courier and fitting.......

you can see my dilemma.....

Thinking out loud here and could be completely wrong but could you not get someone to modify your Milltek Quad System and remove the right hand pair making it like a GTI fitment?!

As I say, i've never seen a Milltek Quad System so could be talking complete garbage

Cant you just change the rear section? Is the current centre section a milltek item?

Matt. I've thought of that, in essence it's simply a cut, fold and seal job.  I mailed milltek a while back but got no reply and didn't chase it up.

Pdt, no idea, I inherited it and don't have ready access to ramps reckon it's just cat back.

Think i will just off and go oem anyway and see if someone wants to buy. I thought the milltek gti version was about £400 that was the point of my post. Anyone agree?

According to Awesome, a Non Res GTI Cat Back is just short of £410........

If I was you I'd take it to a local exhaust place and see what they can do, worst they can say is no :happy2:

Surely the best route is a straight swap with someone else?

Yes. I've got a new valance in the post and an ed30 oem zorst  I'm 99% getting post this bank holiday.

Then I'm selling on. Don't really want to hack it to bits it makes such sweet music.  :pomppomp:
