There are plans afoot which some of you know about R32 front brakes, S3 arms and hubs + Colombus(RNS 510) for now and maybe more later.
-
Nice. Any pics of the interior?
-
Not at the moment Stealth I will do some tomorrow. The steering wheel is ace though.
It has Bluetooth, Xenons, front and rear parking sensors which come up as Optical Parking on the Bolero radio and hopefully the Columbus when it arrives, heated part leather seats and that's about it.
-
Looks great. Im a big fan of that colour!

X2. Was never a fan of the older Octy but me likes this one :happy2:
-
you plate whore, looking good fella
-
Looks good mate. Ride height needs sorting out though :signLOL:
-
These are ace, although I think I would colour code the chrome grill and lower it 30mm to finish it off.
Nick

Even number of coilpacks = Win
Odd number of coilpacks = fail
Great colour choice don't think I have seen one of the face lift cars in that colour before :drinking:
-
Lovely shiny new motor there Hedgemeister :happy2:
Let the modding commence
-
Very Nice mate...
Bens already asked, is our i10 faster then your skoda :signLOL:
I did laugh and put him straight bless him.
Hope to see it Sunday :happy2:
-
Looking good H :pomppomp: :pomppomp:
Can't wait for mine to come now. Still got 8 weeks or so to wait and I'm like a kid waiting for Xmas :sad1:
-
Looks very tidy that. So do they have the same engine as a GTI?
-
Yep
2.0 TSi pumping out the same power etc. Although Skoda have to advertise it as 200ps rather than 210ps. :stupid:
-
Looks good Hedge :happy2: nice choice on the spec
-
Looking good big man. Great value as well.
Yup and the right number of coilpacks as well.
The 2.5 engine despite having more coilpacks than a 4Pot, is glorious.....................
So :angry015:
Can pop a coilpack in the post to you Ian? But you won't get the sound............................
-

Fanks TC :happy2:
The boys in Blue seem to like the Anthracite vRS.
Went out this afternoon and it was like Moses and the Red Sea on the M3.
-
Very nice Mr Hedge. Did you get rid of the fridge? And, importantly, are you going to get big wheels? I bet you could get 20s under that arch :ashamed:
-
Like the colour, as others do, but the rest don't do a lot for me. :ashamed:
Didn't Skoda vRS models used to have green brake calipers, or did I imagine that?
-
the pre 2007 models had green and MK1 ,others red :)
btw: nice choise of car ,looks great in that color :happy2:

Perhaps put a White shirt on Ian, and add an extra aerial for extra courteous actions by other motorists

The Fridge is gone, long live the Fridge.

Cheers mate :happy2:

White shirt, black epaulettes, a hi-viz jacket on the rear shelf and 65mph in the inside lane should do the trick.
-
^^^
Now thats comedy driving :signLOL: :signLOL:
Are you breakfasting Sunday? Or btcc'ing?
-
Should be at Goodwood.
-
Went out this afternoon and it was like Moses and the Red Sea on the M3.
I missed all of that with my second RS by having a private plate. Much more fun having a standard plate and leaving it to question.
-
very nice mate. any interior changes on the facelift?
-
Some interior shots and a short vid.

Very nice mate. :happy2:
I am sooooooo looking forward to getting mine.
Only about 7-8 weeks to go :sad1:
-
So I've done 300 or so miles since picking it up on Thursday and it feels very grown up compared to the pre-facelift Mk2. The ride is very similar to my previous Golf's in that it is firm but well damped.
It feels a nice place to be, which is handy.
-
what on earth is in your Cd player Ian??
A closet Raver are we? :signLOL:

arh....
-
..but you like the needle sweep?
-
if it wipes the dust of the Dashboard cluster, then im impressed
Nice touch...
-
I'm sure someone (SteveP probably) will correct me but I think there is an awful lot of shared components between facelift Mk2 Octy and Mk6 Golf.
-
Nice Ian.
Welcome to the needle sweep club. :congrats:
-
You sir are very correct :happy2:
She looks a very pleasant place to be Ian :drinking:
-
She looks a very pleasant place to be Ian :drinking:
She is mate. Very pleasantly surprised to be honest.
-
Love the steering wheel and seats. Definitely a well-polished motor :happy2: you coming to the J&H meet with it Hedge? I may ask for a ride :rolleye:
-
Yes I should be there :happy2:
-
Looks very nice matey! :happy2:
Missing the .:R much?
-
Looks very nice matey! :happy2:
Cheers mate.
Missing the .:R much?
You can't ask things like that as you know the answer already. :sad1:
-
Why did you change, Ian?
-
I had only planned to run the .:R for a year or so and I do too many miles to justify keeping it, Skoda had their tax free petrols offer out so I jumped ship.
-
Looks great Ian. I have an Octy in the same colour in estate flavour at the moment. Only a 1.6 MPI but fully loaded. It's quite torquey too in stark contrast to the asthmatic MkVI I had few weeks ago.
Looking forward to seeing this in the metal.
-
...my only issue with this is that the word "pleasant" keeps getting used :chicken:
get it angry, slam it and map it
im not the worlds biggest skoda fan in general...... mainly because both encounters ive had with them have ended up with £60 fines and 3 points :rolleye:
-
Needle Sweep FTMFW!!!!
Had a little nosey around Hedges car the other day... very impressed with it (from a visuals point of view)
-
get it angry, slam it and map it
Bare with me caller. :driver:
Mine doesn't have the optional lightpack you're safe on that front.
-
JUST remembered.... nice DRLS! I think even Robin will be envious of those bad boys!!
-
The new wheels look very tasty! I always hankered after a VRS when I had my octy! :happy2:
-
Thanks Mark. Nice to hear a voice of reason especially one that's been touched by the winged arrow. :happy2:
-
My families affiliation with Skodas started many years ago when my Grandad bought a brand new Estelle back in 1988 :scared: They weren't quite as cool back then but TBH it was the best car he had every owned, never let him down. I still have his Skoda Owners Club badge somewhere!!! :happy2:
-
Not much has changed really. Columbus (RNS 510) and shark fin with GPS fitted, cheers Stu and a colour coded front grille.
This little update is for my recent trip oop norf.

Very impressed. Everything as standard at the moment.
At one point my projected range plus miles covered came to all but 600 miles. :scared:
-
Very nice Ian.
But you need to clean that Dash :surprised:
-
37MPG? Thats a trifle irritating!
-
I managed 40.3 in the Ed30 just the other week down to Alex Perkins's... :notworthy:
65 mph sat on cruise. Dam boring drive though..
-
65 mpg sat on cruise
 Do you mean 65 mph?
Yeah I've sat at 60mph when I was moving my stuff up the the Midlands. Definitely boring.
-
^^ :happy2:
-
Small update:-
On the day of the Birth of another Anthracite Czech Machine I picked mine up from some 'enhancements'.
Pichurs first.

She is a completely different car but not excessively.
So KW v1's, S3 arms, S3 hubs, R32 fronts and a Milltek.
She is real good now although all was not plain sailing. I had failed to supply all the bits for the new hubs namely 2 nuts which I believe was pointed out to me but I missed. :ashamed:
The R32 fronts do not fit under OEM Octavia vRS wheels. :fighting:
Some missing suspension bits.
All of this has been overcome thanks to the staff @ JKM and their understanding. :notworthy: :notworthy:
The only real showstopper was the nuts which came from Milton Keynes this morning.
The R32 fronts met Mr angle grinder. Mr angle grinder won.
The missing KW bumpstops and dust covers are on order and will be fitted as and when.
She now drives and rides like a dream. A touch firmer than OEM but without the roll. I'm really pleased. :happy2: :happy2:
-
Looking good Ian.
I'll be down tomorrow or Thurs to test pilot it
-
She's going to want at least 1 plum when you say you want KW's. :ashamed: :chicken:
-
She will do if i ask now after just shelling out £700 for Columbus
-

-
Nice brakes :happy2:
ps your discs are the wrong way round :ashamed:

Looking good! :congrats:
Fanks mate.
-
Looking smart hedge. Those rims look an awful lot like Nousey's ones on his ol' black beauty. Ever thought about buying them? Black inserts with diamond cut face?
-
The EOS ones Stealth? Yup thought about it but don't really have funds currently.
If I buy any wheels it will either be Speedline Corsa's or at a push TD 1.2's.
-
:driver:
Looking forward to the RR day in a couple of weeks then :happy2:
-
Maybe. :rolleye:
-
looking good mr hedge :happy2:
-
im still tempted to get one of these and give the wife the fabia. Miss the octavia and judging by jims ids of his vRS on the trackday even with stage 1 its bloody quick.
Are you going to go for stage 2 or just leave it at stage 1. Carl seems to think he will, not sure who hes kidding though
-
What discs u using hedge??
-
Discs are DaveB drilled and grooved R32's that have been skimmed and painted matt black with OEM Pagid pads. Seem ok for now.
-
Me likey MR Hedge, well chosen mods. :happy2:
-
have you gone for full TBE miltek or just cat back?
-
Lookin good Hedge :happy2:

Very impressed with the KW V1's so far.
Thanks for the kind comments guys. :ashamed:
-
have you gone for full TBE miltek or just cat back?
Very impressed with the KW V1's so far.
I wasnt going to go the coilovers this time but since the fabia handles like a wet sock i think ill go for some V1s as well.
Had a look at the spec of the AMD BTCC golf and that runs 2 way adjustable KW coilovers as well

Excellent job! :happy2:
Do you always put the wipers in the service position when washing?
-
Yup. Makes life easier. :happy2:
-
I lift them off the windscreen too. Looks awesome.
Wish I'd taken pics of my car. It was so filthy, it was grey. SF, 2BM and it was clean.
-
Looking good Ian. :happy2:
Almost as good as mine
-
:signLOL:
-
i kinda fallen in love with the vrs... :ashamed: would you reccomend a vrs?! found a couple of 2007 ones low milage ect just dont know if i can let go of the big vw badge!! :stupid:
-
It's easy just let it go.
-
The Hankook Icebears of win have finally been fitted. :happy2:
Same size as standard on a set of pre-facelift OEM wheels (Zeniths). No pichurs as it's pitch black. Initial impressions are fine but apparently they need a bit of gentle scrubbing in before they give their best.
They also reset the suspension and stood the rears up so they are back to -1.5 degrees. :driver:
-
Also put some Philips Silvervision indicator bulbs in the front and some Halfords Ultra Brilliance Car Bulb in the main beams.
Easier than the pre-facelift as most of my knuckles still have skin on.
Initial impressions are good but time will tell if it's anything more than a placebo.
-
Those indicator bulbs are great, my bro put som in his RS200.... Stealth indicators. LOL
-
Not as good as the Diadems I have in the rears.
-
what are they?
-
These.

Seeing that has upset a bit me as I lost Gizmo last year on New Years Eve.
The reason for looking and the update was I have fitted my winters from last year except they are Satin Black now.
Pictures once I have cleaned her.

I was going to mention that Ian looking down that last page.... Chin up mate.

Alloys look great Ian :-)
-
The finish on them is pretty good at the end of the day they are pre-facelift vRS wheels so 2 a penny really but not in satin black
-
Love the wheels Ian. :happy2:
Mine are satin black too, the only finish I'd go for with black wheels.

Hedge... is this back on stock suspension?
-
No still on sh*t KW's Rich.
It does look a bit tall there. The Snot Rocket in the background is stock but he's got black wheels.
-
Can I ask why KWs are not a good thing?
-
IIRC they creak.
-
Is that not one of the drawbacks of deviating from standard spec, e.g. creaking, groaning, vibration and extra noises that weren't there before etc...???
-
Yeah but this not your usual increase in NVH
-
Excellent choice of new rimmage Mr Hedge :happy2:
May I be as bold to suggest some cheeky 10mm ish rear spacers to give her a little extra junk in the trunk?
-

These have been ok(ish) except for the fecked cap that holds the damper in. No extra noise.
The brand new ones I bought on the other hand were completely fecked almost from day 1 and the reply I received from my complaint letter really takes the biscuit. So much in fact that KW will never ever grace any of my cars once I finish with the current ones.

Looking good Ian, I'm glad to see you've decided against putting the wheel on the wall. :happy2:
-
I only wanted the extra one because one wasn't straight but a nice man with a nice machine straightened it for me. :happy2:
-
Looking good.
I was parked a couple of cars down from you @ Gaydon the other weekend..

I'm an easy spot parked next to mates Snot Rocket.
