Hi All,

Further to the feeler last month I am pleased to announce that we will be holding a Rolling Road Day for the MK5GolfGTI.forum on Saturday April 18th 2009.

Details below:

Date: Saturday 18th April starting at 09:00am

Minimum of 10 cars - Maximum of around 25 cars.

Reduced costs of just £30 per car for 3 back to back runs (Normally £57.50)- cash preferred on the day to speed payments up.

Our dyno is a 2 wheel drive dyno so 2 wheel drive cars only please and preferrably front wheel drive.

The dyno has a small ramp which leads up to it. Any cars which are very low will not get on the dyno. Please check with us first if you are unsure.

You will receive a colour print out of the best run.

Free Tea/coffee/Biscuits will provided all day

For those of you who have never been we always have a great day.

Past results etc can be found here: http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/GalleryRollingroad.htm

We are looking to hold our 3rd forum meet around this time at a rolling road venue , but somewhere nearer the middle of the country so more members can attend hope it doesnt clash. It would be nice if we could get the 2 half's of the country together for a big rolling road day, then all the doubting thomas'es  can shout from the roof tops or go and hide for a few weeks.  :jumpmove:

Cool... :driver:

Well im going to jkm whether its a forum meet or not tbh,Im sure a few guys from the midlands could swallow a 2hr drive south instead of a 2 hour ride north.
Its too far for me to go to Madchester to go on rollers as i expect the guys from there will say the same for a trip south which is totally understandable.

am not on the list - didnt want to mess up the numbers if i suddenly had to pull out - thought it best to wait until i know 100% if i can make it or not

would like to see what the car is putting out with the new remap - but then will be really pissed off if the numbers are low

....No, don't be pissed off if your numbers don't meet your expectations. The curve shapes and data are far more important. JKM's dyno has the reputation of being slightly 'pessimistic' when compared to some others but I prefer to use the term 'realistic'. All rolling-road sessions are a bit of a lottery.

It's a good idea to use the same dyno to make meaningful comparisons of how your car is running.

Hope to see you there :happy2:

am not on the list - didnt want to mess up the numbers if i suddenly had to pull out - thought it best to wait until i know 100% if i can make it or not

would like to see what the car is putting out with the new remap - but then will be really pissed off if the numbers are low

....Don't worry if you don't know soon enough to make the list - Just turn up on time and you'll get a dyno run.

Tommorows meet will be full of these people.

Bourboneers - a group of bourbon eaters
Bourber - a bourbon eater (masculine)
Bourbonette - a bourbon eater (feminine

For the benefit of those outside the bourbon distribution area, a bourbon cream is two rectangular biscuits roughly 3cm x 6cm, and 5mm in depth, on either side of an oval of chocolate goo which never spills out from the sides of the biscuit1. This chocolate invention has created many schools of thought depending on the personality of the consumer. For example:

The theosophist
Why do we eat chocolate bourbons, when they make us sick?

The competitor
How can I eat more chocolate bourbons than my friends?

The sociologist
Look at all the ways that people eat the chocolate bourbons. How quaint.

How to Eat a Chocolate Bourbon Cream

The Traditional Method

Some gorge on the bourbon in the same way you would eat, say, a digestive, though some bourbers would argue this demotes the bourbon to mere 'everyday biscuit' status and labels it fit only for dunking purposes.

Scrape Method

First, the top biscuit is removed and eaten whole. The body thinks, 'Okay, a chocolate bourbon biscuit without goo.'

The body therefore releases its own sugar rush to compensate.

Imagine the body's surprise when the bourber scrapes the goo with his/her bottom teeth.

The double rush of chocolate renders the scrape-style bourbon eater in chocolate heaven.

Once this rush is achieved the scraper will never go back to the traditional way of bourbatious mastication.

The increased glucose in the body seriously hampers said person for life2.

The Double Whammy

The bourber extracts the top biscuit layer with their teeth and consumes it, leaving the central cream layer as intact as possible.

He/she nibbles off the bottom layer of biscuit that protrudes around the cream, leaving an irregular oval of cream-on-base-biscuit.

The eater carefully snaps this remainder in half.

Licking one cream half gently, the bourber (or bourbonette) places this on top of other half, pressing lightly to adhere.

He/she carefully bites off what has now become the top layer of biscuit base.

Slowly consuming the remaining piece of base, topped as it is with a luxurious double layer of cream, it is time to...

Sigh deeply.

An enjoyable day indeed stealth, shame you cant come and help eat our feast tommorow.

....No difference whatsoever in my bhp/torque but my AFR is now absolutely spot on what it should be and flatlines for the whole range so I'm very happy.

240bhp on the day and she's been between 236 and 242 for the last few dyno-days and the curves remain smooth and well shaped as previously. So basically she's in fine tune and good health and extremely driveable.

It'll be interesting to see what the Superchips rollers plot at the forum meet in June.

:happy2:

I did not say they didn't, I was referring to the capabilities of the Maha Roller SC operate, as logging like this isn't available as part of the normal RR days JKM operate.  :happy2:

....If you mean that data logs aren't automatically given to the customer on a Dyno-Day, then no. But AFAIK the info is all there - I've spent time with JKM examining logs and so has illyun (more than anyone else probably!!).

However, Maha's have an awesome reputation for accuracy (if any rolling-road can have!).
