As most of you know, I have white monza's.
Yes they are a biatch to keep clean, well so is the car :signLOL:
Problem is:
Noticed it the other day and more so today, I seem to be getting yellowish tinge patches on the alloys. ATM more so in the centre area and around the rim.
Spoke to powder coating place that did them and he says it might be from the heat of the brakes? But I hardly use the car, so surely it can't be that just over a week of having them on the car?
Could it be something else, ie easily cleaned off or could it be due to the heat of the brakes and they'll need refurbed again?
Not the best of pics to show it, had to play with contrast etc just to try show it up in pics :confused:

I'd have thought it was down to:
- incorrectly stripped wheels
- incorrectly applied lacquer
- crap lacquer
But I'm no expert. Have they used a different batch of lacquer? Might be heat or UV light causing a chemical reaction.

God knows whats going on with them, not a happy chappy one bit :sad1:

I would say it is just a bit of copperslip that may have been used when mounting the wheels. :happy2:

I wish it was that TC, but sadly it ain't :sad1:
Yellow patches have only appeared in the last couple of days.

Well it will not be heat unless you have been on track. It must be down to the curing of the lacquer.

Exactly, I said that to the guy in the Powder Coat place.
So all I can narrow it down to is a sh*te Job!

looks to be a chemical reaction, id be VERY surprised if the heat from your brakes caused that type of discolouration
are you able to tell if its under the laquer or on the surface?
either way, i'd take it to a different powder coaters and act innocent and ask them for their opinion and how they would fix it, then take that info to the powder coaters that did the work and then get them to fix it and do the job properly and actually prep the wheel correctly before coating it :fighting:

Its very hard to tell tbh
Sadly I don't have any others near me, hence why I went to the one I did.
Also gonna be doing a fair bit of travelling round in the next few weeks, hospital trips etc so ain't gonna be able to do anything about it till after that.
