Title: hot hatch 0-60 and 0-100
Post by: Janner_Sy on May 04, 2011, 12:01:44 am
right guys, this is aimed at the usual few on here who love the figures lol

my car has been up @ shark performance  this last week or so, and they have now developed the stage 1 software for it.  they start stage 2 tomorrow :pomppomp:

anyhows, they did some performance testing with it and got the some times down 0-62 sub 6 seconds, and 0-100  sub 14seconds.  now from what i gather that was with severe traction issues(fabiaonly gets 205/40 tyres whereas the cupra/poloGTI get 215/40) so no doubt could be improved with some select tyre changes.  thats on a car with less than 1k on the clock as well :scared:

So what sort of 0-100 times do the likes of focus RS, meganne RS, golf GTI, S3 etc etc manage both tuned and standard.  just so i can see the comparisons

i know most stage 1 ibiza cupras that have been on the 1/4 mile have been posting 13.4-13.8 second times at the pod  with terminals of 98-101 mph so i can guage the performance with that as well.

i like my licence lol.  its  not built for 30-130.  you need big power for that. this is ideal for sprints below 100mph.

just had a look at the evo mag mini hot hatch group test

corsa VXR 0-100 = 19.5
Clio 200RS 0-100 = 18.2
Cooper S JCW 0-100= 17.2
DS3Racing 0-100= 17.5
Polo GTI 1.4TSI 0-100= 18.9 (should be neigh on the same as fabia vRS)

so potentially 5 seconds saving off the 0-100 time.

prob was downhill

interesting that all the times in that link are quite substantially faster for the mini'corsa and clio etc, although iirc the evo article said that the polo was the most consistent car in the wet due to its dsg, so maybe it was really damp!

just remember to slow down before a corner!  :P

im not so bothered about the pub numbers any more, i know my clio feels no where near as fast as the Ed30 in a straight line but show it some twisties and its great fun  :happy2:

mapped TTRS manual does it in 11 secs, and 997 turbo s pdk does it in like what 6.3 secs apparently which is mental.

Behave Jas  , a standard one does that? I would of said a lot quicker, more like low to mid 9's imo... Yours did 0-116mph in 12.5 secs, so unless it took only 1.5 secs to do 100-116mph, it's going to blitz 11's mate..

A Stage 2+ DSG ED30 is capable of a 10 second 0-100mph.. Which considering 1st gear is a waste of time, aint bad IMO..

Oh and a sub 14 sec 0-100 time for a little 1.4 Fabia is impressive Sy  :happy2: That's Focus RS quick..

A standard one did do that you are right I must have messed up my numbers somehow, cause I was thinking the gap from the turbo s figures where way too large!

I will have to ask jamie kip how he got on, as he recently vboxed his, did 0-60 in 3.4 secs on road tyres!

Jamie has got back to me.

"8.7s to the tonne and as I said, I don't (can't) flat shift."

So with flat shifting maybe a 8.3. S-tronics will be in the 7 sec region for sure!

10 second 0-100 in an stage 2+ed30 isnt possible is it?  I thought hurdy only manages 9.9 with stage 2+ and a 100Hp shot of nitrous!!!

Mines now at stage 2.  picking it up tomorrow night.  11 hours of driving just to go and collect it.  working down in plymouth, so have to travel to kent in the work car, pick up bens car, then go to notingham to collect mine, then all the way back down.  not good

9.9 was Stage 2+ wasn't it John..  :happy2:

That was mine @ Stage 2 with just Milly TBE and software (no other mods). This was done @ Pod, so on a flat respectable surface..

With Stage 2+ my car made up half a second a 6mph on the 1/4 mile, so if you do the math..

Oh and stop moaning about driving a load of miles in your newly modded car. That's the best bit IMO..  :driver:

Wonder what your RS3 will make john. Will you be changing the turbo on yours for over 500hp?

I've read about tuned Focus RS' doing low 13sec ¼ mile times, so what would that put the 100mph time at?

8.8 wow, I would have said no way without the box to show.

Have a look at the 60-120 times this is where is becomes interesting if you can dig out a few EVO / Autocar tests. Hang on I'll get mine....... and pull a few comparisons......

Okay the E92 M3 does 60-120 in 10.3 secs, Hurdy in 7.7 !

It was quite a push in the back

E92 M3 "only" has 414bhp and a "paltry" 295lbft plus it weighs in at a substantial 1655kg

Compare that with a conservative 440bhp/510lbft and around 1350kg and it was a forgone conclusion :driver:
