Knowing whether you have a PM or not depends entirely on whether you spot the difference in the top right corner. I've sometimes spent say an hour on this site and not realise I have a PM until a lot later, sometimes the next day.

How about:

1. A pop-up telling you you have a PM
2. Having the 'x are new' in white turn into yellow when you have a PM (more elegant IMO)
3. Have the 'x are new' flash?

I get a email conformation stealth and also when i get a message the whole page changes to a small rectangle in the middle of the page, making it impossible to miss.  :smiley: the only time i dont get this is when i am actually in my messages at the time. So i think you need to have a quick look in your profile if you dont get this. Not sure how to turn it on though if yours is off.  :happy2:

Stealth - if you go to your profile and click onto the 'Personal Messages Settings', you can click the checkbox to enable

"Show a popup when you receive new messages?"

This is what you are looking for I think!!  :happy2:
