Title: Smooth U.S style grille
Post by: Gtiain on May 06, 2011, 11:23:55 am
I'm going to eventually get round to doing this mod with magnets for the plates etc. However, I recently purchased a new front grill from the dealers that set me back £130 so don't really want to be buying another. Soooo is it possible to smooth the normal grille? Ie fill the number plate holes in? Thanks

Could you not glue the magnets to the back of the original where all the 4 holes are, this covering them from the back, then vinyl wrap the front covering them from the front maybe?

Just an idea?

Did think about this but im sure when I take the plate off the holes would be visible? Maybe I'm wrong.

Not if you then vinyl wrap the grille? Loads of people have wraped stuf for the first time and got an excellent result maybe worth a shot? Possibly something I will also be doing! If not then bodyshop?

If you do vinyl wrap the grille then make sure you put some filler in the holes otherwise it will be visible where the holes were.
I matt wrapped mine a few months ago and it looked pretty good.
