id prefere the carbonio box though as its ment to help air-flow more?! (probs just advertising blurb)
-
Looks interesting but I'm sure with all the extra air turbelence from that new piping, an intake like the carbonio would fare better.
Also and IMO, with a turbo car, you'll not see any real world difference in post turbo intake temperatures to make it worthwhile.
-
That looks really well done, good work Mat :happy2:

IMO and ETTO have been BANNED from the form!!!!!

you do know the only thing a carbonio does is look good :P its the filter that does the job

Yes but you still have the filter, no doubt an aftermarket one, in the stock location.

and if i ever want to change it to a dblis i will use it as a brake cooling duct
-

Not what I have found with my intake..
-
out of interest is this a piper cross cold air duct kit?
mitch
-
Is the ducting heat resistant?
someone may know more but its not the amount of air but the way its delivered to the turbo, vectering and such like things which i know feck all about :ashamed:

Do you have pre and post intake IATs logs to support your statement?

....No, but the rest of us might benefit from knowing more factual information. I've no idea which of you is right and it's even more difficult to decide because you are both people whose opinions/contributions I take notice of and tend to believe.

It still might end up as a cold air feed for a normal filter type cai like the evoms or be used to keep brakes cool
-
Mat ED30
Are you planning on logging your Air Intake Mass with this mod? It would be interesting to see how your g/s is effected.
-
Hi Mat,
Sorry to dig up this old thread.....but I saw this ducting kit quite often a few years ago, but not recently.
Can you tell me where you bought the kit?
Do you think this could be used to supply a decent feed to the ITG setup?
....and last if all, do you think the ducting can be fixed securely to both sides? (if heading up to the ITG foam)
Thanks :happy2:
Anyone Else? Please feel free to chime in

Any pipe will do the trick

Also check out NeilM's build thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,22082.255.html < Reply #264. Though Neil's are ducts to the brakes - Very tidy solution for ducting anyway. :happy2:
-
Thanks Ed and Robin :notworthy:
That's the ITG ducting sorted out, well probably a nice winter project in the garage. :happy2:
With regards to NeilM's "Brake Ducting" it would be real nice to incorporate both the Brakes and the ITG with the same pipes.
:pomppomp:
I guess the main problems arise when trying to fix the pipe work securely. It will need to cope with the bumps, speed, vibration etc.
:ashamed:Another Link im after......Can anyone remember the oem plastic air scoops that fitted to the front arms under the car or something???
