Title: 5th Year service - Time & Distance
Post by: Tarmac_Terrorist on May 08, 2011, 09:51:13 pm
Hi guys - quick question....

The car goes in tomorrow for the 5th year Time & distance service (May 06 GTI) and the service book in the car which is tucked up in the garage.

Can anyone confiirm if th 5th year service is a big one (spark plugs etc). I had the timing belt / water pump / brake fluid / aircon all done last year but I seem to recall the standard 5th year service was a bigish one??

Anyone able to confirm?  :happy2:

Hi

my 06 had its spark plugs changed in its 4th year service which was a big service which according to the info I found on volkswagens website under the owners section is correct. Just had my 5th year service which was a minor service for £129 under the fixed priced servicing scheme, also says in year 5 you should have your brake fluid changed and air con refreshed.

Year 6 is a major service including plugs, and air con service. Check your receipt see if they did plugs in your 4th year if they did'nt, ask them why not.
