Title: all season tyre?
Post by: liveround on May 09, 2011, 08:05:30 pm
I need new tyres for my GTI shortly and I’m interested in an all season tyre that will perform better in the winter than my current Michelin PS2. I don’t want another set of PS2’s due to poor wear and the experiences during the past winter. It was so bad that I had to park the car as there was virtually zero grip, even at slow speed.

I know Goodyear F1’s and PS2/3 appear to be the tyre of choice for most people, but I’m willing to sacrifice ultimate dry grip performance, for wet weather /winter performance.

Has anyone experienced another tyre that they would recommend for all year use?

What tyre speed rating is required for a std GTI?

Falken 452's... Had them on a few cars now.. in all seasons... Handle quite well even with some 'hearty driving'

I found the Vred Sessentas better in the colder weather than the F1s. The tread seems to clear better in snow.
