In an attempt to take the badge off to wrap it in carbon vinyl, I thought I'd better check whether I've got the 2 piece boot badge before trying to gently prize the silver VW badge off.

Mines a 2006 3door Manual GTI.
Have I got the one piece or two piece? The badge wouldn't ease off very easily with an interior plastic removal tool.
I thought it was the 2005 and earlier models that had the one piece badge?
Thanks.

Looks like its the same one that i had on my 56 golf and that was a 2 piece version.
I think mine was held on with double sided tape as thats how i fixed it back on after painting.
try some dental floss or something similar to cut through the tape and it should come straight off :happy2:

Ta mate :happy2:
You're right about the sticky tape. I delved a bit deeper today with the interior removal spade thing and it does seem like there's some layer of thick tape holding it on :surprised:
Is this what you used to re-apply it nicely?

The 1 piece badge is flat so this is a 2 piece :happy2:
