Crispy/crunchy base. Soggy only acceptable if it's because of sauce.

I personally prefer a Meat and Potato from my birthplace, Crewe, but can't get them down here.

I quite like pie, mash and liquor!

Difficult to find though.

Having grown up in a chippy I was the chief pukka pie taster and quality controller  :signLOL:

Chicken & Mushroom / Beef & Onion are me faves. Their Pasties weren't bad either

I always have the fish!

Best pie I've ever had was in the Cobweb Inn in Boscastle, Cornwall. Went in there with the missus and 3 friends and the missus and I were raving about how good the pie was so we all had the same. Sent back 5 plates that were literally licked clean. If anyone's ever down that way try it out.

As for Pukka Pies, I've never had one and I'm guessing there'd have to be nothing else available and for me to be very hungry before I gave it a go...

50/50 so far, dang!

Not tried the holland pies yet, heard they're pretty good from some customers.

Was a bit sceptical about the chicken balti pie but it was quite surprised when I tried it! Tasted pretty good for a curry pie although not something I could eat all the time.

H4rdy: You could always get the chippy (providing they're willing to oblige) to order you a box of meat & potato pies and can bake them yourself

I guess just like with anything, you can't really keep everyone happy with anything so you go with you're own gut feeling.

Can't beat freshly baked pies straight out of the oven imo even if it does end up having a soft base. So I guess its soft based pies for everyone out of the shop then!
They do the pies in shortcrust but wasn't really to my taste so won't be putting those up for sale just yet.

I'd be on Supersize vs Superskinny if I took over the shops  :signLOL: not to mention making no profit cos i'd be eating all the stock!  So it was decided I should get a 9-5 office job and sit on my bum in front of a computer all day long  :drinking:
