Title: Inlet Manifold Runner Unit
Post by: bird752 on May 13, 2011, 05:47:12 pm
Hi all!  Put my 05 GTI in for an MOT and the Exhaust Emission light on at the local dealers and it passed its MOT but they said that the Exhaust Emission Light was traced to the Inlet Manifold Runner Unit.  The part number is 06F 133 482.  They quoted me £308.85 in vat fitted.  Is this a good deal?  Would I be cheaper in buying the part and taking it to my local garage to fit?  If so where is the best place to buy the part from?  I take it that this would also be the reason for loss of power on occasion, a sort of "pushing & pulling" feeling.  Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated.

Im not sure how much the part is but it is easy to change.  The throttle body is on the front and access to the motor flap is very easy.  Once fitted you may need to recalibrate the throttle body.

did they try doing a basic settings procedure as this may occassionally fix the problem.

Wasn't there a TSB on this? Also I tried basic settings on my friends GTI and it didn't complete the basic settings?
