OMG.
Thought I'd remove the pre cat and after reading threads on here it seemed pretty straight forward.
Try to get the exhaust out the mid section joint was a nightmare - especially with the car up on little ramps.
Took me 3 hours and several cuts, bruises and aches though it starts
Haven't been out as I'm battered now though after revving it the first time it did have a little pop
Revved it a bit more and all seemed good.
Might go for a run later and see what's what.
Again, great help from the forum and a valuable resource for GTi owners.... :happy2:

Nice one :happy2:
I removed the pre cat from my Octy VRS and it makes a big difference to the spool up. Plus the EGST will not be as high and the turbo will operate a bit cooler. Next plan is to remove the centre box and place a straight through pipe for a bit of extra noise

Massive improvement....absolutely over the moon with the difference. Quicker, feels lighter..
No real change in the sound though slightly more tappety on tickover....
Happy :happy2:
