IIRC flashing dsg lever lights points to i being Mechatronics... at least it will be under warranty!

28775/U0103/049411 - No Communication with Gear Selector Module
Possible Causes
Communication Failure with Gear Selector Module
Communication Failure between CAN-Gateway and Transmission Control Module
Selector Lever (E313) faulty

Shift Selector Locking Solenoid (N110) faulty
-
It does point to a pretty serious problem
A 'Basic Settings' might clear it

Again from ross tech

02413 - Switch for Selector Lever Position P Lock (F319)
02413 - Switch for Selector Lever Position P Lock (F319): Implausible Signal
Possible Causes
Control Module for Steering Column Electronics (J527) faulty
When stored in Combination with 00003 - Control Module: Defective
Possible Solutions
Check Control Module for Steering Column Electronics (J527)
i dont think that is a mechatronics problem.
-
What would the steering column electrics have to do with the P lock though  on a DSG in any case
-
You can't take the keys out unless it's in P.
Can you move the gearlever/start the car?
Sorry Dawain but I think you may be at the mercy of VW recovery and the dealer on this one. :sad1:
-
Sorry to hear about this dwain. Hope you get it sorted!
-
Ah yes very true Hedge. You can tell I havent woken up yet!
-
Nope keys jammed in ignition but Vw assist man has manually released the lock n now it's fine

If it's not the mechatronic, then can it be? Suggestions, please.
-
Could be VW have left something loose whilst changing your Mech's no doubt :fighting:
-
didn't some one have the same trouble and it turned out to be the connection on the gear selector
-
bad news mate keep us informed with what vw say :popcornsoda:

Welcome to DSG Mechatronic's replacement units.
One of my 5 Mechatronics replacements 2 did the same as you have here.
Mine would turn car off put in park. Restart car, then gear selection would work again. till about 10 - 30 minutes later. It did this again.
It keeps loosing it's "Basic Settings" it's a fault with the Unit. A DSG Reflash from VW or New Basic settings applied will last 1-2 weeks. then end up the exact same.
It's a Faulty Mechatronics unit.
Just going my all my problems I had with DSG on my car, Oh and the excuse they kept giving me.
-
Thanks everyone...my motor is booked to have its mechatronic unit replaced on the 24th May. Fingers crossed :drinking:
-
bad news mate keep us informed with what vw say :popcornsoda:
Yh will do Matt :happy2:
Well he onli manaully pushed the lock pin bk in put it back in drive ignition on and off then it was fine so it got me wondering if I slapped it in2 reverse wile it was still downshifting from 2nd to 1st is this possible ???????
-
No it locks you out of reverse ie you need to come to a complete standstill to engage that gear.
-
Ok matt well I'm gonna pop Vw when I finish work as I'm not happy with a few things, like the fact the gbox sump plug was loose n leaking oil after they changed the mechatronics unit
And they lied 2 me about rental car age the w@nkers
-
Well went 2 Vw raised my issues and they took the car there and then so looks like some new bits will be fitted soon
So now have a slowwwwww pug 107 1litre jobby
-

How did VW eliminate the mechatronic unit from being faulty?
P.S. Great to hear things are sorted!!!
-
Purely from the fault codes as it was showing up selector fault so the tested it all out and replaced that, also mechs unit is 2months old :happy2:
-
Thanks, mine is going in today to have it's mechatronic unit replaced. Fingers crossed.
-
Na it shud b fine mate :happy2:
-
i was half right then ..glad you got it sorted
-
Thanks guys for all your input. I did have to press VW about the mecha unit by providing my own VCDS diagnosis and logged faults.
Just been told I should get my car back before close of play today.
P.s. Does the unit need to be programmed
after it s fitted?
