Had an absolute ball.  Funny funny times.

We got to some great picture spots, especially on the Sat (VLN race - German touring cars)

We were literally 30 feet away from the cars, with a double row of Armco between us and then.  I took a few pics, and as it was my first real outing with my Canon 550D.

Culture First - Menin Gate Ypres (Ieper) - very moving, always gets me every time I visit.

Just go there and drive normally and check your mirrors constantly. Nobody said you need to set the world alight. Just drive sensible and safe. Its an experience in itself doing that.

Dont worry about driving fast. But i would urge any motoring enthusiast to at least get over and drive the 'Ring even for 1 lap. Then, just spectate, talk cars and take in the atmosphere.  :happy2:

Big thanks to Steve for getting us there in the first place by organising, and to 'Team Dad' for helping anyone who needed it during the weekend!  :drinking:

Catching the VLN as up close as we did was a major highlight too, fabulous cars that looked and sounded awesome!!  :notworthy:

Had sooo many laughs and good times, and even managed a couple of dry quick laps in-between the downpours!

Another of the many highlights was a 20 min session last night on the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit! That will stay with me for a long time even though I felt I was killing my car after the Ring laps earlier in the day!  :laugh:

The track was due to open at 1200 on Sunday, and guess what time it started raining..............................1159, I kid you not!

in the VLN race the grey Mini was very very quick, gave the big fat Aston Martin a real head-ache.

And for anyone interested in the VLN results, the Golf came in 6th (best lap time was 8:28.992 - Full circuit), the race was won by the Ferrari F458  :smiley:

Was going to visit the Ring a few weeks ago with Jake/Danish and a friend of him.
Sadly Jake had probs with his engine and I had an accident one week before so
we had to cancel our trip.

Think we'd like to plan a new NoS weekend and joining some more forum members
would be great. A visit to the Mosel and/or Koblenz seems also very worthwhile  :wink:

That van did a huge number of laps, it was always just going out whenever I saw it.  Those Swifts are a great car, huge amounts of corner speed to be had, where other cars have to back off.

I think you will find that the little boy is the correct size for that car, were as the giant next to him with the boulder head and sausage fingers had to be shoe horned into the bucket seats.  :laugh:

It was actually a joke, The saftey helmet for a co pilot is abit OTT in a Suzuki swift.It won't go faster the 100mph, unless it's dam windy lol

Always best to wear a helmet when the car has a cage.  TC had one, so took the precaution.  Also that Swift was fairly quick, stage 2 130 horses, 990 kg, top speed of 120+mph,  very sticky tyres and went round corners like it was on rails.

I believe it has lapped the Ring, in very experienced hands in well below 9 mins.  I heard around 8' 30".
