Make sure you report to the police that your plates have been stolen as they could end up being used on a stolen car to commit thefts etc!

Gutting mate, really is. Know it's stating the obvious, have you told police, as they must have taken your plates for bilkings/other crime where a car is used?!
E bay has some second hand genuine ones, think they are about £50 ish.

Yea done that earlier, they said its almost a daily thing now, people are taking the plates and filling up with petrol, by the time the fines through and reported as fraud the scum has stolen another plate and doing on that! Happened to a friend of mine just a month back now on his scirocco too, going to have to clear out the garage this summer!!

What the hell is happening to this country
I just keep hearing more and more cases of this
They dont get punished enough in my opinion

Wasnt there a front upper grill with number plate surrond in the for sale section? Worth a look as I think it was nearly brand new.

I only sold a US one on Monday that you could have had.
Sounds daft, but I have metal pressed plates, only held on with magnets, and no one has ever taken them.
In fact, have never heard of anyone having the metal ones taken, possibly as they stand out a bit more than normal ones.
Could be enough to deter them and go to your neighbours car instead.
