They will only have his email address on the system, nothing else... so unless someone knows him then I might have to try a little spy work....
-
And ip address.

No he hasn't, he was last active on the 12th May. His account is locked from posting any further for sale messages.
-
And ip address.
Unless his IP address can be used to track him down to a street-ish area then its no good... normally they ping back to other areas where the towers are.....
But any info would be nice :happy2:
-
this is a pick of his car from his build thread..

His name is on his profile email.
Did you pay with Paypal?
-
Thats how the mods can help. Blocking his account.
Not necessarily solving the problem.
Im not making much sense today. :rolleye:
-
His name is on his profile email.
Did you pay with Paypal?
Yeah, but as normal when buying parts I'd say most people do the same they buy them as gifts and pay the fee themselves so you cannot claim back...
:surprised:
I know his name craig heslington from his email...
He lives in Solihull
so really need to narrow it down a little further now...

I know its too late, but, I always pay not using gift.
There is a calculator online to work out the fee.
If the seller says no, no deal.
I got tucked up on dubforce once the first and last time.

great detective work

Nice work :happy2:
-
thanks everyone for the help.... just got to arrange with a few mates a trip now...
-
:signLOL: Brilliant!!

Not being funny but is the amount in question worth getting 'the boys' round for?
If he calls the police your in big trouble.
Maybe right it off as a bad experience and pay not using gift in the future.
Just trying the voice of reason before ending up in the cells.

Yes it is worth it... the lads will be there... as if he wants to be funny about it they will remove the part from his car...
If he calls the police it will be good to watch also. He has "STOLEN" my money as he has not supplied the goods. all of which I can provide evidence to....
-
The POWER of the internet! Brilliant guys!!
Be careful...just dont threaten the guy too much, there may be a reasonable excuse, stay calm and you will get your parts or your money without incident.
I cannot wait though to see how this turns out.... As a rule I trust people on here, most people dont want their reputation tarnished for the sake of a few quid, good luck mate.
exactly... I have a phone number now also to try first... then if no joy I'll give him a few days... then a visit... He'll only have to deal with me, which could have been avoided...
As long as he is upfront, there will be no issues...

I would seriously consider removing this thread as it could be used in court against you as evidence if things turn out bad.
He only has to read this to know your coming round and call the police first and because you have intent taking the boys round your in trouble not him.
He will claim self defence.
THESE THINGS ALWAYS TURN OUT BAD!

+2
Yeah never good to say stuff like that online,
asking who he is etc is fine but not the "taking the boys round part"
Keep the main stuff so other members are warned about him but delete the going round bits etc comments :happy2:

Why...
Not once have I said it would result in Violence, all I have said is that I will be making a house call to claim my money back which he has stolen or the parts he owes me. Simple.
The lads in the car are there for insurance purposes... as who knows this guy could be a heavyweight boxer??? So if things got out of hands at least my back is covered 100 miles away from home...
I hope he does come on here... least then I might get some kind of response... as the 10+ mails I've sent him certainly haven't!!!
-
Ok good luck. :happy2:

What sot of time period are we talking here? From transaction to today?

Sounds like hes gone on his holidays
Sounds like a scammer to me... takes your money, pops online a week later early hours after recieving emails and PMs but not replying to them, then disapears altogehter...
:stupid:
If you were going on holiday you would at least tell the person who just paid you for parts not to expect them for a month!
Ooops guessing we can't name on shame my bad!

Had this before on eBay, bough something which turned out to be fake....I instead threatened small claims even though I knew their address....As soon as I started it they paid out....
Some real low lifes out there I'm afraid....prefer face to face transactions now...even if it's an hour or two round trip..
-
how much does he owe you?
-
It seems from todays news you can organise a hit for £200 so people need to be careful :scared:

I bought the R32 rear lights off this member, they were advertised with a small chip on the side of the light, which was correct ! But, he did not advertise the rear of the light was broken also, and as such the lights were open to the elements and could only be secured to the car with one bolt ! I emailed him to say it was not what he described and guess what, nothing back after 10 emails !
Ended up selling them on the bay, telling the truth about the damage, and of course lost money !
You can mention me aswell when you "bump" into him !
On a seperate note, this thread is fascinating ! I never realised how easy it was to pin someone down ! You guys are great detectives !
Keep me informed if you could Jonm :happy2:

I will put this down as a near miss. I nearly bought those lights!
What a sad individual. He deserves a good talking to at the very least.

Will do,
I've sent him the last email today, as a just in case... to save me the drive down... and he has until friday morning to reply... I've even said I will pass his info onto my solicitor who is a good friend... if nothing then a visit it will be..
-
Would deffo be in his best interests to reply :popcornsoda:
-
Let me know if I can be of any legal advice mate.
I arranged to meet him the once to buy some parts, he said that he was on holiday for 3 weeks at the start of April, so doubt that he has gone away again so soon after. Never met him, or bought the parts.
-
He arranged to buy a set of wheels from me a few years back then promptly vanished off the face of the earth!! When he recently re-appeared I sent him a friendly pm to catch up and find out what happened, guess what........... no response!! :fighting:

I hope during the course of participating on this forum that I've never actually helped him in any way, or given him useful information....because he doesn't deserve it!
-
Good luck getting your money back or the items you purchased. And i hope they turn out exactly as described.
If its any help, i only live round the corner in Solihull. Solihull isnt a cheap area (for the most part) and he looks like he lives on a decent street. So lets hope there is a simple explanation.
-
will keep you all updated...
-
Well after spending a day in London yesterday with a mate of mine for the start of the Gumball Rally we decided to pop in and speak with Mr RunRabbit on the way back.... :happy2: to catch him unawares
Knocked at the door and he wasn't in.... but his parents were.... told them whats happened, his old fella opened up the garage and there were my paid for parts just lying under general rubbish...
According to his old fella he was at college and he was also shocked to hear the story of what has happened...
Gutted I didn't get to meet Mr Craig Heslington (RunRabbit) as a few choice words would have left him with something to think about...
But now I have my parts.... No thanks to him...
-
Well good to hear you got your parts even with all the crap you've had to put up with :happy2:
-
Glad to hear you got it sorted mate :happy2:
Good result but, I would have loved to give someone like that something to think about :fighting:!
-
Glad to hear you finally got the parts you paid for....just sorry to hear about what you had to endure to get them.
-
:congrats: :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:
Class ! Young Run Rabbit will now be getting an ear full ! I am sure he will be logging back on here shortly !
-
Nice one! :happy2:
-
 Glad you got your stuff ...
-
Just like to say thanks to everyone that helpped with the info... :happy2:
-
.
Glad you got your goods but the number of accounts of this character's actions are such that there can be little doubt that he needs to be taught a lesson! He probably thinks that he's being clever and he's the next Alan Sugar.
If he continues like this, one day someone will do more than just collect the parts they paid for - He'll just pick the wrong person who won't be too bothered about obeying the law. What goes around comes around - Just a matter of time.
-
Would be a shame to bar him from coming on here, if he ever emerges from the primeordial soup I would like to see what he says for himself...
-
Result & well done. :happy2:
-
Nice work buddy - great to see a resolution which didnt involve any unplesantness :happy2:
Hopefully he is reading this thread and chooses to amend his ways and grow up after his close call.
What a prat
-
What did his parents say?
Great result though :happy2:
-
Nice to hear things turned out well without violence or threats.
I hope this shows everyone that you're not safe when buying online, even from fellow forumites.
